Question about Paralysis Inducement and Social Influencing

I Want to ask two things about this topic.

1. how do i fight against paralysis inducement without resisting to it? can pain tolerance, willpower or else be enough?

2. can i bring social influencing to scare/make the opponent fear my character even tho the opponent is from a different verse?
