Question about Destroying a Meteor

Let's just assume a character destroyed a building sized Meteor but that Meteor was gonna wipe out the entire planet and my question is would destroying said meteor makes you planet level?

If the meteor didn’t do damage afterwards, then the character would be planet level.
If it still did significant damage, but didn’t destroy the planet, they’d scale down from it.
If the broken pieces still destroyed the planet they’d only scale to fragmentation if the meteor.

Destroy all life I don't know, destroy the planet can anywhere from high 6-A to 5-A depending on context.
