Limited Information Analysis or Possiby limited Information Analysis.
This famous statement implies that Jaime Lannister is able to tell if a character is stronger than him physically or not without having to face him in single combat :
"She is stronger than I am.
The realization chilled him. Robert had been stronger than him, to be sure. The White Bull Gerold Hightower as well, in his heyday, and Ser Arthur Dayne. Amongst the living, Greatjon Umber was stronger, Strongboar of Crakehall most likely, both Cleganes for a certainty. The Mountain's strength was like nothing human. It did not matter. With speed and skill, Jaime could beat them all."

That Jaime used terms like "most likely" and "certainty" proves he never faced Lyle Crakehall and the Clegane brothers or never had a physical altercation with them, but we do know he's seen them fight. He most likely never faced the Greatjon Umber either. He never knew Gerold Hightower in his prime, but he saw an old Gerold Hightower fight and most likely even trained with him (all Kingsguard knights train with each other).

Although, during his fight Brienne he only knew that she was stronger than him when she led the offensive, but there can be two explanations for this:
- He can determine someone's strength only when that person is attacking

And/or

- Jaime's analysis is not perfect and he can't always know exactly the character's strength (he said that Lyle Crakehall is "most likely" stronger than him, which proves that he is not 100% sure, and therefore his ability to analyze is limited)

Thoughts ?
