Pokemon Outlier Discussion Thread

This is discussing all the times something happened in Pokemon that are outliers because there are just ludicrous amounts of them at all times.
Most of these will probably be regular Pokemon scaling to Legendaries and Mythicals if I had to guess.

The first one I have:
Luxray severely damaged Darkrai with a Hyper Beam. Darkrai in turn beat Dialga, who is Multiversal.

Pikachu harming Arceus

Brycen beating up Team Plasma's Pokémon (unless Brycen is just built different)

Ash's Sceptile harming Darkrai ig?

trained pokemon fighting with legendaries is just basic character scaling, usually, i dont imagine that chimchar one is legit

assuming it was someones chimchar and not just a random one

oh no it was just a random, untrained chimchar.
I think
at the very least it did not have a trainer because it was from Mystery Dungeon

The Issue has to do with GF creating Uber powerful Pokémon. We didn't need a God who created all existences, only to have a Pokémon who's demonstrated far weaker harm it through some bs and that Pokémon go on to lose to a far weaker Pokémon than it. What does this say about the scaling.

There were so many ways they could've gone with the Legendaries but they decided to make some of them so powerful, while at the same time letting weak mons harm them with 0 explanations because all scaling be damned

Easy fix
The Legendaries are just physical manifestations of the things within the cosmology. They literally set that up with many being the embodiments of this and that, with the only thing missing is that it's not clear whether they truly are embodiments, or just titles humans gave to them. All they need to do is to confirm the physical manifestations can have variable power levels if their true forms choose them to be weaker or stronger. Problem solved

Without such a statement though that idea kinda goes out the window

Also this shouldn't be an outlier or discarded for any reason I just wanted to bring it up:

Cynthia's Garchomp in the anime canceled out a Spacial Rend from Palkia

Journeys Ash > Leon > Cynthia

2-B to 2-A Ash GG

And in which what way is space hax AP related
Ah yes, the move with 100 base power in-game, the move that collides with a barrier with a force, is pure hax with zero AP whatsoever

I don't even wanna entertain this, that just baffles me to an extent I can't comprehend.

Neat. So we're using game mechanics.

Psycho boost has 140 base power so it's significantly more powerful than Spatial Rend. Neat.

Lol

This is also an overall thing, I'm tired of the preconceived notion that "Trainers can't be this strong!"
Strong enough to be 2A with a Pikachu who gets stomped by a level 5 oshawott. That means Oshawott > Pikachu > Arceus = 2A
It's entirely unsupported, because it's just that: a preconceived notion from the old days of the wiki.
It's an outlier, which is why we're here.

This literally only scales to the god tiers like Cynthia, Leon, and Journeys Ash. What are you talking about?

Also Pikachu momentarily hindering Arceus was literally just a part of this whole Plot-Induced Stupidity nonsense that is the Jewel of Life movie

You're ignoring everything else because you don't have an argument.

Also we know what actual durability negation via hax is like. It's stuff like Super Fang, Nature's Madness, and Guardian of Alola. To ignore that just to push this weak argument is ridiculous

I agree that some trainers can scale to the Creation Trio.

Remember Low 2-C Cyrus? Cuz he had a Palkia/Dialga but it was decided the Palkia/Dialga has to be weaker than normal for some reason? That requires more mental gymnastics than "the trainers can fight the legendaries"
