The Omnitrix has a failsafe in which it fires off an offensive energy pulse as a defense mechanism against opponents that target the Omnitrix directly, with the energy emission being able to harm 5-B characters.

• Knocked back and damaged Tetramand Kevin
• Blasted back Vilgax (who in the same episode couldn't be budged by Heatblast, XLR8, or Diamondhead)
• (Omniverse Omnitrix) Blasted back one of Charmcaster's rock monsters

So the Omnitrix (and Ben when wielding it) should be 5-B with Energy Projection.

Shouldn't the Failsafe energy blast scale to the self destruct? Considering it cames from the same source of energy, and we know that thing is able to destroy the Universe, and should be able to expulse that level of energy if enoughly triggered.

So, something like "At least 5-B, up to Multi+/Low 1-C with Omnitrix defense mechanism."

Maybe, though that even being an option would depend on if the Omnitrix can unleash above OS tier levels of energy without self-destructing and damaging itself. Charging for 30 seconds before self-destructing made the Omnitrix too damaged to be functional, yet the explosion couldn’t do significant damage to AF Vilgax.

Going off the same idea of “self-destruct is just letting out energy beyond what it can safely expel”, I guess it would depend on the exact durability of it. We know it can withstand letting out more energy than the prototype, but are there any feats that put the OV Omnitrix’s durability notably higher? Its durability while in alien form scales to the aliens themselves, and when Maltruant’s Annihilarrgh went off it had Celestialsapien DNA to protect itself so that’s also not a usable gauge. Personally I can’t think of any examples of significantly higher durability.

The failsafe doesn't affect Ben at all, even when the self destruct mode was ok, his discharge of energy never affected Ben
