Outdated Profiles Use?

Is it allowed to use grossly outdated versions of profiles in serious battles, or it's only usable for joke battles? Such as "[character] version is specifically the [exactly how many years old] version in 9-A tier [link to that version]" when character in question is normally Tier 7/6/5/ETC?

Well, you can't create vs battle with outdated character profile, it won't be a legitimate fight, and very unfair too. But you can use it in fun & games.
