On the Matter of Purification and Madness

This was a shower thought I had regarding purification. Would purification be a viable measure against madness?

Now, it is possible to remove madness from someone. The ending of Brave, where Merida kills Mordu, is a prime example of getting rid of someone's madness as the king who became Mordu managed to get the respite he desired after his death. The question is how purification would fit into the equation.

Madness is seen as an evil state of being, which makes it a shoo-in for Type 2 Purification to handle. Thing is madness is actually a chaotic state of mind, not necessarily evil as it is rather directionless. Without direction, there is chaos, and where there is chaos, there is insanity.

Purification can cleanse one's mind of madness, BUT the question is what type of purification would work for it? After all, as it currently stands, our purification page has yet to consider madness. This thread aims to figure out where to put the idea of cleansing madness. Could madness be removed by Type 2 purification, Type 3 purification, or an unnamed new type of purification? That's what I would like to discuss. I'll let you peeps provide your thoughts.

Depend on what kind of madness hax the victim is under. Like if madness cause by some kind of poison or drug or power that affect your biology such as your brain then it is purification type 1, if the madness caused by metaphysical power that affect your consciousness, mind as in metaphysical, abstract sense then it is purification type 2. About type 3, it is kinda a broad type, depend on how the verse treat it as status effect or not, sometime you have a verse where a mind hax that cause madness by affecting your metaphysical mind is treated as status effect, which if you purify such thing, you could get both purification types 2 & 3. Sometime you could get even all three types to just cover the effect of one ability since it can cause all three aspects

So it is really depend on what part of you caused the madness, biological, physical part = purification type 1. Non-physical, metaphysical, abstract part = purification type 2. Type 3 depend on how the verse treat it as status effect or not, power often overlapping each others, i don't think we really need to make new power, new type in these case

You're cool. I mainly put this up requesting an addendum that implements madness as a possible purification target. Hmm, chaos, i see, but since chaos is mtepahysical, abstract (of course we talking about literal chaos, not chaos as in mundane things), so it is purification type 2. But yeah i think we need to have a better wording on the type 2 of purification, since it is titled as Spiritual Healing, could name it Metaphysical Purification

Though sometime the act of removing an effect such as chaos, or evil thing could mean Power Nullification depend on context of the verse or even both Power Null and Purification
