I mean, Yugi doesn't have alot of cards that would speed his deck up. Without plot armor, Yuya should take this because his deck is better than Yugi's, he can summon monsters faster. Though Yugi has Monster Reborn and Pot of Greed, his deck itself is not gonna get better with those.

Overall, i would say Yuya with a more fast, consistent and, overall, more powerfull deck

Let's be honest here: everyone hypes the crap out of the God cards, but almost every Yu-Gi-Oh! protagonist since has pulled and/or fought against better stuff.

Besides, I don't know about the manga, but in ARC-5's anime, the characters' playstyles are far more similar to how people play Yu-Gi-Oh! in real life, which is to say... Far more ridiculous.

I mean, today people in the first turn have 6 link monster on their field or just OTK the opponent with other strategies

Dude, even half-way into the Zexal Era, I've seen a guy managing to banish his own deck, and then Special Summon Hearth-eartH Dragon with 42.000 ATK points.

Yugi ain't got much against advanced players IRL.

In Arc V, they are literally running and jumping around while dueling, something that the likes of Yugi isn't exactly accustomed to.
