Any attempt to physically strike Akainu should logically just lead to Goku's body being melted. Goku's heat resistance is really nothing compared to Akainu's heat output: which applies to literally every single attack Akainu does and radiates off his body whenever he uses his fruit. For someone who typically leads with close combat this is pretty much a death sentence.

Unsure if blocking with Ki would work. Sakazuki not only has higher AP, but the heat from each of his attacks scale to 28000ºC which is beyond what Goku's resistances have shown.
Afterimages would not work on him because of Kenbunshoku Haki, which grants precognition among other broken sensory abilities.

I found the scale of One Piece to moon level very interesting, although i have never seen this in the work itself, but in a way Goku cannot resist the Akainu with its temperature and cannot affect, if it were Goku arc Freeza or Broly Goku would easily shoot Akainu and resist his lava.

He can still be killed before that point though and Goku can fight while crippled look at demon king Piccalo.
Goku also has mobility advantage he can fly Akinu can’t.

Bloodlust doesn't really help Goku's chances here. Even if he leads with his most powerful Kamehameha from the start Akainu can likely just deflect it with haki or otherwise mitigate it with his stat advantage + amps + regen.
And close combat is virtually an autoloss for Goku as I mentioned ealier.

The thing is that only one side can actually do permanent long lasting damage to the other. As we’ve established Sakasuki can’t kill Goku. And him “cooking” or “crippling” him would also go against the wish. Growing up healthy and strong and all. Akainu only wincon would be BFR. Which Goku can also do.
