It's pretty much madness hax in Pitou's case and can lead to death hax if he cannot defend against it and the range is several kilometres.

Also to note Pitou can enhance her six senses to the point that things moving in her normal perception look as though time has stopped.

Thing is:
If REI dies, the emperor can revive him.
Emperor can also fight in place of rei and he's a soul, so I doubt nen would work on souls.
How does the madness work?

Nen is life energy and Hatsu can be made to interact with souls, Nen also interacts with intangibility and non-corporeal so itshould be able to.

It can be so intense that people literally lose their mind on the spot, and seasoned Nen users age decades in seconds and become paralyzed with fear. Nen users obviously have resistance to this, so it is ridiculously potent.

Hatsu is like special abilities created through Nen which has been shown to interact with souls. For example Kite resurrected his soul through Nen into a new body and there is someone in the verse who can cause the soul to "speak" and tell the truth through Hatsu. And the non-corporeal is likened to a ghost and possession, think of it as a formless being given "form" by the personality of what it "possesses".
It's like a mass of malicious aura which terrifies and causes people to go insane by the nature of it. If you don't defend against it you could die.

Bottom-line is if Rei can get past Pitou's wall of Nen then he probably stomps with any hax seeing as she's mostly a physical fighter and her amps can't work here but if he can't it's a stomp the other way.

Also if Pitou dies, she gets a massive amp. Enough to severely injure someone who was previously pounding her into mush, literally. So he sort of has to kill her twice as long as her body is somewhat intact.

Well Hatsu just gets hax stomped by Emperor.
I mean Ogami doesn't get terrified by the 7 demons of the 7 deadly sins. So he should have pretty potent resistance.
But either way Ogami can act when dead and Emperor will just stomp Hatsu.

Well, let's just say he has a....very easy time past regen. (4 flames that can EE, 1 flame that deconstruct or freeze people in ice, 1 that can put people in illusions).
I mean Ogami doesn't get terrified by the 7 demons of the 7 deadly sins. So he should have pretty potent resistance.
But either way Ogami can act when dead and Emperor will just stomp Hatsu.

Hatsu isn't a character lol, it's a subcategory of Nen.

Neferpitou doesn't feel envious and had never done so within HxH so very unlikely. The only way you can make one of the Royal Guards envious is by affecting the King in some way.

Because all that stuff is just giving commands to Nen to do something specific through Manipulation or some other Nen affinity. If Nen itself cannot interact with souls then it wouldn't be possible. We see that Nen Users can interact with Guardian Nen Beasts as well who are likened to souls and ghosts, are completely invisible and intangible to regular humans.

So what happens if Rei dies, he comes back as a soul with all his abilities in tact? I would say that's a stomp in his favour then because Pitou cannot put him down. Theoretically she could create an ability to go against souls directly but it's unlikely mid-combat.

Yes, but giving nen specific comands doesn't make all of its commands work that way, otherwise what would be the point of giving it specific command. Besides a soul feeling madness will need a bit more proof.
If Rei dies, he resurrects normally. Emperor governs life and death, he can resurrect him. But the emperor himself can come out and fight in his stead too. Or just act from inside his body to burn ppl. Also there are things like Belphegor which if used on himself (ogami) "burns" all powers that are affecting him. So if using belphegor he can't be affected by powers.

Giving Nen commands is to ensure it works in a certain way, that's the point, if you don't it just wouldn't do anything. It just needs to interact with the soul first before any command is given. I didn't mean a soul would feel madness, just that her nen could affect souls.
