Naruto's Self-Sustenance?

For what reason does The Last Naruto have Self-Sustenance? Is it because he survived on the surface of the moon or was it because he leaped into not-so-distant space in order to save Toneri at the last moment? Depending on the reasoning, there might be a CRT discussing this.

So, does that mean that the rest of the Hanabi Rescue Team would also get Self-Sustenance?

I did a bit of digging before you responded, and I found some people saying stuff like "Sakura, Sai, Hinata, and Shikamaru could all breathe in space with zero explanation", which is weird because Naruto also survived on the moon with zero explanation. It is not like being a Jinchūriki suddenly makes you alien-like.

Also, Toneri uses a blast of wind on the Moon, and there is an entire civilization, ripe with plants and living creatures, inside of the Moon. There is zero reason for surviving on Naruto's Moon granting Self-Sustenance when there is clearly air and an inhabitable environment for plant life.

As for the latter, why?

Well, I mean, I also think the moon has some atmosphere and such. But we don't actyually have enough info regarding that. I'd just assume that they can "breath" in space with the current information we have.

Fairly sure it's stated in the Sasuke Retsuden novel that ninja can use their chakra to produce oxygen and KCM Naruto actually breathes in space in the novel.

At least, that's what I've been told before when I brought this up.
