Does Genjutsu work on dead people?. I know the IT didn't work on Edo's but does that apply to all Genjutsu as well?. Don't remember anyone using it on an edo or even attempting to.

That is how Itachi broke the Edo control in canon via Kotomatsu. Th eonly reason IT does not work on Edo's in particular not dead people. Is because they chakra they get is from nature. So they have no chakra themselves to collect.

Edo's should have chakra because they are able to use jutsu. I havent read naruto in a long time, so i might have missed an explination somewhere in the manga.

Hmm, reading through, seems I was wrong, though it makes sense that it has to do with their chakra, it is very likely their chakra can not be sucked up since their body and chakra always stays in a fixed state. It guess it migh just be IT in particular does not work on dead people since other genjutsu do it just fine.LordGriffin1000 said:

its most likely from the DB cause narutowiki says that Edos are immune to IT well it said the dead are immune to IT, but regular genjutsu can work on Edos like KM and Itachi's totsuka blade

So one of the strongest genjutsu has such a weird weakness. I guess it makes ense since the point is to turn living people in an army.

People under IT are supposed to be drained out of Life energy and chakra,Edo's have nothing from that.
