Naruto Databooks

No content is under revision here so I moved it in a place where you can discuss this whatever in general.

Well everyone would scale to it like when Piccolo busts the moon so characters like Raditz and Nappa automatically scales to him since they managed to give him a hard time.

Then it'll require a case by case analysis, not everything is always clear cut

exactly my point, but we dont do that we dismisses everything because of 1 hyperbole statement

I think we should put this on the Discussion thread since there's no ability or upgrade/downgrade getting added anyways so yeah just wanted to point it out.
agree or we can open naruto Discussion thread like other verse

Well that puts the Character A on the High End City level since that character was the one who managed to show such feat.
well many verse only has moon/ planat level feats but they r still get upgrad to tier 3 or 2

via statements from manga

If I'm going to be honest, I get the impression that the reason why the data books aren't accepted is twofold. Firstly, it's because it's already shown it isn't very reliable as hyperbole is used as many will not deny. Secondly, it's because ppl just don't understand when to quit; when ppl constantly spam upgrade threads based on already rejected data book claims and I'm talking like a dozen in 2 weeks the staff and the wiki in general become exhausted and suspicious of any threads that make use of the data books as evidence. If ppl want to avoid issues like this, then moderation is key spamming threads won't get ur verse upgraded it's likely to do the very opposite

I tend to agree. Iirc the a data book stated sakura's punches were about as strong as a bijuu bomb which is mountain level, however, because we disregard the databook we had to go by her best feat which was when she falcon punched the mini juubi creatures.

I'll try try to be clear if I can

I don't disagree with using statements from WoG. They can be used but they must be consistent with the verse. If they continue to state things that are contradicted within the verse then it will not be excepted. Even if said statement was never contradicted it still needs to be shown or else it would only get a possible or Likely at best.

You must realize that just because a character is God Tier doesn't mean they automatically get a pass. If they are consistently challenge and harmed or stalemated by people much weaker then them and they only have one feat or statement then they will not be upgraded period. Said God Tier would need the feat and statements or consistent showings of being superior to the other characters to be able to be upgraded. Now if their are more feats/statements then there are contradictions then the character can be upgraded.

It would help if you post which statements are not being excepted because of these "1 or 2 inconsistences".

This wiki dose take WoG into account only if there are not contradicted in said verse. The author can say anything he wants, while this is true we still must go by consistent feats and statements over his word.

I hope I explained it properly.

I think the point of this issue is how to dismiss databook declarations superficially without any argument, if there is a statement that someone does not like, simply pull out the 'outlier' or 'hyperbole' letter without Nothing more and ready. The guides give information that complements, explains and clarifies doubts of the main series and that is their purpose, but I see that for some reason everything in Naruto guides (and that is the other point of this subject, that this apparently only happens with The Narutoverse) are discarded superficially. An example is when I made a calculation of Deidara C0, in the third databook it is clarified that this technique uses the type of destruction vaporization but a user mentions that this can not be taken into account because the guides have hyperbolic, generalizing (something wrong in Himself) and saying that that nullified that statement without further ado.

As I mentioned, if it is true that the Naruto guides can not be taken into account by hyperboli, please show us that it is so that not only use Ad hominem to rule out any statement that clarifies something of the series.

A user mentions that everything should be supported by calculations and feats, however that is not always the case and here I have seen some characters that have no feats but declarations in the manga or guides and those if they are accepted without problems unlike those of Naruto , So I see inconsistency from one verse to another. Another example is Kaguya's Gudodama Bocho, which we know is the most powerful jutsu in all of Naruto and was never shown in action, however in the guides mention is made about that and we can clarify the subject. To say that what is mentioned in this guide on the subject can not be taken into account because somewhere there is a hyperbole would be absurd to my way of seeing it.

And I think that certainly, many do not know how to read the guides and have drawn hasty conclusions about them, I do not understand the bad reputation that have the databook of Naruto and how it is that everything in them is null. So, there should be consistency and above all arguments about what can be taken into account and what not.

From what I've seen from members of this wiki, some try to use the databooks to upgrade the naruto verse which has been discussed extensively.

Few people just say the databooks are full of hyperbole or inconsistencies, personally I've never read a naruto databook or any databook from any verse for that matter so I cannot say its full of hyperbole but is their clear statements that are not contradicted.

I would still like these databook statements that have been disregarded because of hyperbole so that I could go over them for myself.

For that Dadira one, I'm not a calc person so I'm not sure on the results.

I did not say everything should be supported with calcs. I said calcs and feats take priority over everything else, if unfortunately a certain ability cannot be calced for whatever reason then other methods can be used to determine the characters tier, the most obvious being scaling. But the issue with using the data books in an absence of proper context is also an issue, while I have never read any of the data books I imagine if it said the Kaguya was capable of creating entire dimensions with her most powerful attack it would raise eyebrows especially when u consider that god-tier or not a feat of that level is so grossly above everything else ever shown in the series that taking it at face value would just be wrong- it's y Kaguya placed at planet level, it's a conservative estimate especially when these "dimensions" in Naruto have never properly been defined

The databooks have complementary information that expand the knowledge of the series and solve various questions, what is discussed above here is the refusal to take anything said in them only because if, without any real reason and deny affirmations said by the author Which in other profiles of other characters are accepted without any problem, for some reason Naruto guides suffer ostracism without any reason or justification. And it is not being said that something should be accepted without further calculations and exploits are always primal and in that we are all agreed, calculations of Naruto have been made and will continue to do to expand the knowledge of the verse. However to leave the information of the guides arbitrarily is incorrect, if we really want to evaluate the power in Narutoverse the data and statements provided by the author in the manga and guides should be taken into account, I see no reason for that in other series that is so and in Naruto no, that lack of consistency from one series to another implies lack of objective criteria.

Kaguya is the most controversial point in all Narutoverse, not only because in the manga and guides its greatest feat, Bocho Gudodama is ambiguous but because even if it was not and it was clear its power would be rejected by simply exceeding the expectations that one has of power in Naruto.

While I'll admit I've never followed or really cared about databooks in general, during my relatively short time on this site I've only ever noticed databooks either being unacceptable (e.g.OPM, Naruto, Bleach) or more general info being usable (like comparable characters or how certain powers work) but never anything concerning the destructive capacity of said power.

From what I see about the databooks is this, they do give more information about the characters this is true but people try and upgrade the verse because of vague statements from the databooks or characters inside the verse for example...

1. There is a statement in the Baruto Movie Databook about Kinshiki, it says "He can split worlds", people have used this countless times on this wiki to upgrade him or back up upgrades for other characters but here's the problem with this. The word "Planet" is not in there, it just says "World" which could mean a verity of things like a planet, a universe, a pocket dimension or even a city because a person could grow up only living in this city and know nothing about the rest of the world so if he split the city he would in turn be splitting the persons world. No one has any solid evidence that proves their referring to Planet. He also lacks any feats close to this level so that doesn't help his case either.

2. In the manga/anime Obito forms that DNA sword and says that its the sword the sage used to shape or create the world (I do not know what he actually said because I hard both shape and create before but I'll just go with create for this example). Like Kinshiki's statement it doesn't say "Planet" it says "World". World in this sense could mean multiple things like, he could have created the planet with it, he could have won battles with the help of the sword which allowed him to stand at the top and declare this the age of ninja or hell he pointed it at people to give them chakra which created the ninja world. Just like Kinshiki, Obito lacks feats with and without to sword anywhere close to planet level which doesn't help his case either.

(obviously the last two examples about the sword are unlikely or not true because I don't know the Naruto verse extremely well, I was just using them to show world can mean several things)

For some reason everyone jumps to the World equals Planet thing but that is not true at all.

3.Now about Kaguya...

Even if she showed the ability to create an entire dimension/Universe it would be an outlier because it massively beyond anything in the verse. Even if we did except it being universe level it would damn sure not scale to anyone else and wouldn't even scale to her normal AP. The same goes for Solar System or Star Level Kaguya as even those ratings are to high for her and like the others she lacks feats anywhere close to them. The size of her dimensions are Planet size but some use the star or outer space to prove their bigger but their is no proof she created all that.

As you can see I didn't say anything about the databooks being full of hyperbole to disregard any of the three.

When you guy's create threads about the databooks you must make sure it is not vague or it will be disregarded like many times before and the staff a very tired of dealing with all the naruto threads because most of them bring up the same thing over and over.

Like I said before I'm not against using databooks/WoG statements for any verse but they must be consistent with the verse or clear enough.

Sorry for rambling on.

Since no staff members seem interested in this thread, it is unlikely that it will lead anywhere.

Anyway, I don't remember our current policies regarding databooks so well, beyond that they had some hyperbole statements that we eventually had to ban creating topics for, as we were tired of repeating ourselves over and over in endless discussion threads.

@Antvasima you can close this thread as we are basically going in circles.

There is a rule about using the Naruto Databooks to try and upgrade the verse because its been discussed repeatedly over and over and they all have been denied to my knowledge.

If you guys wish to use Databook or WoG statements for any verse you can but they must not be vague or extremely outlandish and must be consistent with the verse otherwise they won't be excepted.

I said all that really needs to be said.

Well, I agree about that.

I will close this thread then.
