Kishimoto puts a lot of effort into his backgrounds, settings and environment and tends to keep a consistency and accuracy among his art. There is no way that circle in the Konoha overview is the Death Forest, Kish wouldn't make a mistake of making the buildings of Konoha kilometers wide.Omimi said:

He's not inconsistent with how he portrays Konoha and the nearby things. You can see it in all the aerials.Rocker1189 said:

Some value their words and statements for details more than their art (Toriko, Kubo and Yu Sasuga for example) while some tell through their art (Oda and Kishi for example). The only map we have of the Forest of Death does not match the circular bush in the top corner of the Konoha aerial. Not only is it too small, but the rivers we have from the FoD map don't match the supposed river from the circular bush. The nearby formation of land is also not similar, the nearby bushes and practice grounds from the map.

It's not a double standard, every mangaka values something more than the other, or even both of comparability. An mangaka that puts emphasis in his words while ignoring the consistency of art means he values the wording and holds it to a higher standard than the art. An artist that values the art and maintains consistency of it while not putting value into statements or woring means the art is the higher standard.
You shouldn't blindly assume and slap a band across all of fiction that says one is always the more valuable, it's so misleading and dishonest. This isn't just about Naruto or Bleach as you keep trying to bring up (I dunno why when this is a Naruto thread) as it's literally all of fiction.
