Shunsui's Kageoni game is described on his profile as:

• Limited Teleportation and Pocket Dimension Creation (Kageoni is a game based around not stepping on shadows. It allows Shunsui and his opponent to strike each other through shadows[8]. Shunsui is also capable of hiding within these shadows[8], and can create a pocket dimension in the shadows[9] that Shunsui can stay in for an extended amount of time[9], Shunsui is capable of teleporting himself[10] or others to alternate shadows[9])

This is all fine and dandy, but I wish to add to this. The CFYOW novels describe this ability further, showing how Shunsui is capable of forcing people into this shadow realm.

Kyoraku spoke bitterly as he sank into the shadows with one of the creatures.

“Ho? So even your enemies can get dragged into the shadows of your zanpakuto? I didn’t know that.”
