I'm saying that Fate Hax literally makes it so he can't die. Meaning anything that kills him would get noped by it (outside the typic NLF stuff like better fate hax, smurf hax, etc.).

Not sure if absorbing Mario's soul would count as killing him, monsters and human souls were all sentient still, and monsters were seemingly absorbed in body as well.

Regardless, Asriel can control how much damage he does, there's a reason why Flowey lives you with 1 HP both in your first meeting and your last battle. Though, I'm not sure how much tryining to tie Mario up with vines or stuff would help either.
