Luke Skywalker vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Luke in Return of the Jedi key

Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith key

Fight takes place on Mustafar. So Luke is basically replacing Anakin.

Luke: 1 (@Pyro9278 )

Obi-Wan:

In the battle of Mustafar Kenobi (40) < Anakin (60), he only stood by his skill (likely the best duelist in the entire order thus superior to Windu in terms of defense with his Soresu) and because the gap was not large enough to instant stomp, and Anakin was partially in conflict, since he would not really jump off that platform if we are realistic

RotS Anakin < RotJ Vader (state stronger than in any point before) >~ Luke
And i think old Obi believe Luke can suppress him with his potential

Anyway, skillwise is other thing and i lazy to overthinking that part

Luke is not like Anakin, who was conflicted and whom Obi-Wan already knew his tactics. Luke, on the other hand, would be more focused and capable of fighting fluidly, and he shouldn't have any problems keeping up in terms of skill. Luke even boasts of having greater potential in raw power, so Luke would have even more of an advantage, although I don't doubt that it would take him some difficulty to defeat Obi-Wan

Yeah Luke's power statements are basically the nail in Obi-Wan's coffin

Like, yes, Obi-Wan is more skilled, his form 3 is basically unbreakable for all intents and purposes, but does that really matter when Luke can casually **** him up with the force?

And yes, I can already hear the comments on skill; Luke beat a Vader who didn't even want to fight, Obi-Wan while rusty as hell inconned Vader and basically let himself die-- This is discounting his other fight with Post-Muatafar Vader where he won while rusty then, at the time Vader had basically stomped every other Jedi he fought. This key of Obi-Wan beats the dogshit out of Luke in skill and it's not even close.

But again, Luke can throw any of his offensive force powers at Obi-Wan and pretty much win in a few hits at literally any time. It's even borderline a stomp cause Obi-Wan's lightsaber form means he's not exactly out to push the offensive to abuse his skill advantage

I have to raise a small issue here. The lore details being talked about here seem to mostly be from novels and EU content that Disney flushed down the proverbial toilet. Obi-Wan's mastery of Soresu and Luke's special power was introduced in the EU.

Sounds like an issue you need to resolve on Luke's profile cause uh... right now he is VASTLY outscaling Obi-Wan

Meh. Disney's canon decanonizes the EU then basically relies on it for its world-building. Even the Disney trilogy is nothing but a poor rip-off of the Jaina Solo story. With such messy direction who the hell knows what's going on anymore?

What about Anakin vs Luke? Anakins form V focuses on offence and aggression.

True idek at this point lol.

Consider just not using this key of Luke lol, the ability to force push and out the big hurt on the opponent basically means he's in a position to win every single one

Not only is it his power with the Force, but also that Luke is considered a quite skilled swordsman, perhaps not better than Obi-Wan, but good enough to be on his heels just as his father did in their fight on Mustafar, with the difference that here the Skywalker is unleashing all his strength

Canon and Legends Star Wars is also outdated as hell. Best to wait for the CRT revisions since both Canon SW and Legends will be upgraded
The updates will not significantly affect the combat as both will likely remain on the same scale. Combat is based more on skill and experience than on anything else.
