Light balls? (Sakura Novel)

it doesnt behave like raw light so it wouldnt be FTL

raw light would just be an intangible straight line going in one direction

or if you're using real life physics, an omnidirectional beam that's intangible

Those aren't valid criteria. Light hitting something doesn't disqualify it for being that speed anymore, and moving in a straight line is no longer a qualifying criteria.

To qualify as light, one must fulfill at least a few of the following conditions:
  • The beam refracts in a new material, such as a liquid or...
  • The beam diffuses in a reasonably realistic way or reflects off a material that it can be expected to, such as a non-magical mirror, or a metallic surface (Like a sword blade) and so on.
  • The beam is called lightspeed by reliable sources.
  • It is stated to be composed/consisting of photons or light itself (Or if it is stated to be "purely made of light"), again by a reliable source.
  • It has its origin at a realistic source of light, such as a camera.

Does those fit any criteria for light?
Did the light ball's beams refract through a liquid or a glass pane? Did the beam reflect off of shiny surfaces like mirrors, metallic surfaces and so on? Are the beams called light-speed by reliable sources? Are the beams stated to consist purely of photons/light?

If there are no statements supporting these, it cannot qualify for true light.

I was asking the OP, i did not read the novel and was asking if something in there could support lightspeed
