Lifting Strength From Sinking a Floating Object?

If a character pushes a floating/airborne object (say, a floating castle or something) downwards until it touches the ground, would it be possible to get LS from that?

Yeah. For an object in water you can just take the objects buoyancy and subtract its weight.
For floating objects you could do the same, but you would need to replace the buoyancy with whichever force is pushing it up. I suspect for flying objects you will often have a problem finding that force, though... or at least that your estimates will be pretty close to the weight.

Yeah, this was about objects that are just magically suspended in air with no explanation. Would it just be the object's regular weight, then?

For an object magically suspended in air the force holding it up would be equal to its weight, yeah.... buuuut you got to substract its weight from that for the force of pushing it down, which makes it a 0 lifting strength feat.
