Life Is Strange General Discussion Thread

Heyo, folks!

I had always heard about Life is Strange, but only recently (2 weeks ago recently) had I played it for myself.


I was enthralled by the amount of care, charm, and effort put into it. I grew to really like the characters and the world it built, and found it unique in a way that perfect encaptures a fantastical coming-of-age adventure.

That being said, I updated the verse page because it was so barebones that it hurt to look at. Maybe I'll try my hand at making additions after I'm free of my other verses for a bit (for example, Max absolutely qualifies for Social Influencing [Deception & Charisma]).

Either way, definitely one of my favorite choice-based video games to date.

SOOOOO late but: David Madsen the Step-Douche.

Former military vet means combat experience and familiarity with modern-day weaponry and a level of proficiency in CQC, his files and knack for investigation are decent showings for intelligence, he would have Stealth Proficiency for being able to both discreetly take pictures and follow a variety of students without their knowledge (including following Max's trail to the Dark Room), he could arguably have Social Influencing of some sort, and he has a case of guns that would make for good Optional Equipment.

It's good but I expected more Chloe. Also when the x men are formed who will be their leader?

I know it's a joke but Max would make an amazing New Mutants member (the original team)

OT: Max profile needs a little CRT,i don't see her Temporal Shift/Impulse abilities being cited nor her Entangle.

She also deserves at least a Limited Teleportation from her evolved Focus/Chronoskimming in Double Exposure.

There will most likely be another CRT done if the new game provides new arguments/abilities for Max!

She also deserves at least a Limited Teleportation from her evolved Focus/Chronoskimming in Double Exposure.

That as well, my primary focus when I remade her profile was simply to find viable arguments for her to reach Tier 2, so I forgot some other things

I have played the full game already and there should be a minor upgrade she merged at least 3 timelines instead of just 2.
And there is a lot of weird stuff going on with Safi and Chloe because of Max.

It took me about 11 to 12 hours to finish it the first time because I was interacting with everything.

It’s always shocked me that a GOTY nominee never got much attention in this community, but I guess it’s not a rich verse for scaling.

It makes me curious: what are your guys' favorite Life is Strange game? For me, it's:

Life is Strange > LiS 2 => Before the Storm > True Colors > Double Exposure.

Despite it being so low, True Colors is still around a 7/10 for me. Maybe a point lower. Double Exposure is closer to a 4 or 5. 2 and BtS are super close but I found a lot of heartfelt enjoyment in 2's emotional rollercoaster story.

I have been pre ordering on steam all dontnod games since I played the OG Lis for many years now, I intent on keep doing so hopefully more of these games are launched.

True. I'll admit the live action show has me a bit worried on how they handle it. The last thing I want is something that butchers the vibe and story like the Halo show...

Wasn’t a huge fan of LIS2, loved the story, it simply felt completely out of place within the franchise. The characters were also not that great.
There’s another game no one talks about though, Lost Records I believe.

Interesting order! I reeeeaaallly loved BTS as well so I'm glad others seem to be high on it!

Felt that. I also adored the story, and I really enjoyed the perspective of "You're a normal person but guiding your supernatural brother". I also resonated a ton with the themes, as I'm a Hispanic myself (albeit Puerto Rican, not Mexican).

There’s another game no one talks about though, Lost Records I believe.

I actually didn't know Lost Records took place in the LiS universe! Might have to check that out.

Pretty sure it doesn't, it's just made by the same creators dontnod but they don't even do Lis anymore it's square Enix now.

After finishing Reunion I can confidently say it beats Double Exposure for worst game
