So... I'm a bit confused.

"As long as aspects of his mind, such as his soul and body, still exist, Hope will bring him back to life". I can't find any reasoning for this. I also can't find any reasoning for it being instantaneous or endless. Can someone explain?

I know it comes from his ressurecting from Fear Zeus but I'm not sure where the soul and body thing comes from (Ask Kep)

It's because he was able to resurrect without needing to go to the Underworld, so we assume he is able to resurrect himself as long as his soul still exists (even that is a low-end for reasons below). I think I had a good write-up on this a while back.

We know he died against Fear Zeus (since his neck is snapped, the health bar literally shatters, he closes his eyes and the director of the game said that Hope brought him back from death on that scene) and also when he released Hope to the world by using the Blade of Olympus to kill himself (the same Blade of Olympus that was able to destroy Gaia's non-corporeal spirit form), however, in both cases, Hope restored him back to life, even after he released it from his body somehow.

Cory Barlog even said that Kratos's efforts at ending his suffering were in vain, because no matter what he tried to do, he just wouldn't "frickin' die"

No one said it was instantaneous. It took him a few minutes for him to be brought back against Fear Zeus, and, assuming it was real time, a few minutes for the post-credits scene to show Kratos's body missing.

ah. I've seen a lot of threads that just assume Kratos' res is instant.
