Kitty Pryde's page lists an excessively minor key with nearly nothing to add, and in general is pretty underresearched. CRT is to remove it.

Well the form only appears in two issues: "Legendary Star-Lord #11" and "Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men: The Black Vortex Omega". In it her thing seems mostly to be how hard she phases. At first she dwarfs a planet, then holds a galaxy in her hands, then beings to transcend the multiverse by connecting with every version of Kitty Pride, then begins to grow beyond the size of the universe, before she returns to her senses to shrink back and save a planet from an alien parasite swarm.

Its basically just a really big Kitty Pride that appeared for like, the equivalent of 3/4ths of an issue. Guess we have keys with similar minor screen time though, like Superman's sundipped stuff.

Well, I wouldn't mind if we remove Superman's sundipped 2-A key, given how briefly it appeared and how much of an outlier it is, but it would cause a massive uproar if we do.

I won't comment on the multi sundip Superman example on whether that should be removed, but I agree that's literally a one time power up. Still, Matt's input would be needed for that controversial debate. Anyway, the OP's proposal looks good.

Well, I personally do not think that we should use temporary power-ups or extreme outliers that only last for a few pages at all.

Time to add a bajillion keys to Spider-Man. It isn't a big moment in the universe, it's a one time thing in a decently obscure comic, and even if it wasn't, a QUARTER of the issue possessing it is ridiculously minor.

We can allow for keys for scaling purposes, that's why the Sundipped key exists. Black Vortex is nothing like that.

It's an important plot point in the story, but it isn't a key character moment that defines them later on or anything. She got a boost to save a planet, saved the planet, then had the amp removed.

It's made perfectly clear that Superman can only achieve 2-A via massive amounts of prep time, and outside help, but he can be assumed to do the same thing whenever he does get that same amount of help. And it scales to Prime 1000000 who basically used that to a whole new level.

I am fine with Sundip Superman's key. It's made abundantly clear that is a level of power he cannot normally reach without outside help, and that at that moment he also became stronger than he ever had.

The reason I brought it up was not to get rid of it, but to say that other profiles have similar ratings for powers they have for at most one issue.

Looking at it, I don't really see a point in Kitty keeping the key. It's a very minor moment in her history and contributes nothing else. It'd be different if she held onto the power for a decent period of time, even a couple issues. Or if her abilities had very clear scaling based on other things even if she doesn't have them long.

But this is extremely minor in the grand scheme of things and really doesn't contribute to the character and any kind of scaling for it would be stretching it IMHO. As with anything concerning DC or Marvel, we must judge case by case. It's not just the fact Kitty didn't have this power long, but the fact that it's extremely short appearance precludes any concrete information to be gathered outside some basic powers.

Even if we did keep it, it couldn't stay as is. Kitty demonstrated several powers with Black Vortex upgrade and none of them are represented, making they key poorly done on top of everything else.
