(I had this as a direct message, but I'm repurposing it for this new sub-forum.)

This is a project in which, basically, I point out rare Kirby stuff hard to find, and supporters make a video about it, and later I make gifs or shorts of it in Imgur for evidence.

Anyone willing to help out and with the resources to do so can become part of the thread as well. They should please state what games they have.

At the current moment, I'm overworked with many Kirby-related things I need to write down on blogs and profiles, and lack a good computer to make those shorts. But, it would be prudent to communicate what's needed, even if I may not work on it in months.

(← Users who contribute with footage.)

Footage is needed for the following:
  • Kirby Super Star & Kirby Super Star Ultra:
    • Helpers can survive King Dedede's Inhale & Star Split, which is Resistance to Transmutation. We need better footage for it. (And btw, "Friend Helpers" in Star Allies would have this as well, as they are stated to be the same as regular Helpers. [Dedede only uses Inhale & Split in that game, if you're wondering.])
      • The same happens with Meta Knight and Sword Knight in Super Star Ultra, no?
    • See the speed of the Helpers? And how Laser Ball's lasers are actual lasers? Well, in Meta Knight's Revenge, at the start, you're soon to find a new type of Laser Ball who can bend his laser by 90º at will to snipe you. Later on you found another one as well, trying to snipe you at a closer distance. This is not how 99% of all Laser Balls work in the series, and not something you can do with the Laser ability, but the laser is all the same regardless of this unique behavior. I believe you can dodge and block that enemy's laser from much closer than with the calc we use in the Helpers' profiles, especially since you only see the laser coming when it bends out of nowhere to get you, and this would result in higher speeds. I wonder if it would be possible for the NPC Helpers to deal with those lasers alone, while Kirby does nothing. Not that it matters since you can always control them. Also, for the record, I would dismiss the speed of these lasers as not being lightspeed if there was good reason for it, but there isn't any.
  • Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe:
    • Can the game be played in Jpn.? If so, the "Magolor's timeline of events" blog lists all his conversations translated, and some are missing. It also lists all his ability comments in Magolor Epilogue, missing his comments on most Level 1 abilities (You need to click on Details, then go back to Level 1. On its own it only shows from Level 2 onward).
    • (✔. Turns out, they removed this feature. How lazy!) Kirby & co.'s Team Attacks can push back Dimension Walls in the inter-dimensional rift areas. This could use gifs.
    • When Kirby inhales an ally, and splits them at a Dimension Wall, the ally hits it away with their weapon. Well, at least Dedede did so in the original game. I imagine the same happens in the remake if Hal wasn't lazy. I also wonder what happens when you split another Kirby at it.
    • (I guess by extension, Magolor's Team Attack would not do this... ) Magolor faces his own Dimension Walls in Magolor Epilogue, and can use a Team Attack (It looks like his Magolor Cannon move, but it isn't). This should likewise push back Dimension Walls, which grants Magolor Minor Spatial Manip. A video about it could be made in which a Magolor with nothing upgraded does this, proving Pre-Master Crown Magolor has this ability more easily from the perspective of someone who knows nothing of the series.
    • In older games, tying in Samurai Kirby means having a sword clash with the rival, proving they have similar LS as they struggle. Does this also happen in this game? If so, what happens when you tie against Magolor, in his ship? That Magolor playfully falls when defeated, so maybe he does something that would also imply he and Kirby are being casual in this game (This Magolor doesn't scale to anything). If not then it doesn't matter, but it's something I would like to see.
  • Kirby Battle Royale:
    • What happens when you lose to that Kirby clone attacking you at the start of the story, or the other traps in that area outside of the tournament. Turns out, the characters reviving in this game is canon (Wait for my next Kirby revisions), so if they revive there, it would be notable. Try to kill Bandana Dee too if you can. (Insert self-aware comment over how bad that sounds here.)
    • To confirm, if you die over and over, the resurrection gets slower, no? If so what's the limit on it? Maybe it gets slower during games, but it's always as fast otherwise, which is something meaningful.
    • The characters could use a good gif of "grabbing as many apples & things as possible, moving and jumping around like this, and throwing them at on a spot they want." It will be part of their Superhuman Precision in the future.
  • Kirby Fighters from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Kirby Fighters Deluxe, and Kirby Fighters 2:
    • Can you Guard against Ghost characters' life-draining attacks? We actually know this is the case in Fighters 2, just not the other 2 games.
    • Use the Invincible Candy and with 4 fighters around, does it protect against the Action Stars' sleep inducement and its ability to blow everyone up to 1 HP?
  • Kirby Star Allies:
    • See the gif of base Magolor's Magolor Cannon move in his profile? It fully shows the range of the attack over a stage with a wise range. It's not needed, but I want to see something like over the Star Allies' Team Attacks. The video we have showing that has them shooting it over a short range. This goal of showing the full range of an attack is something to keep in mind always in this project, ideally.
    • Friend Abilities that mix elements aren't even listed on profiles. They need to be, on top of gifs of what they are. Part of why this wasn't done yet is how messy the visuals are in this game; With many players attacking at once, it's hard to understand what one is even seeing. It would take forever, but each move of each Friend Ability needs to be shown at a time, with nothing else on-screen.
    • See this? In the part saying "they can partially travel across parts of it without help from vehicles" I will put an album in Imgur with 2 things; a video of the Star Allies walking and running around that world map, saying that this is what I refer to, and a short gif of them using a vehecle there, saying how that's not what I refer to. I need some good footage of the former.
    • The Star Allies' acrobatics. Mount Rick with 3 allies in an uneven terrain that goes up & down, turn Rick into a rock ball and roll around like crazy (I think you can jump too). We should be seeing the character on top moving their feet like a crown to keep up, which is a notable feat.
    • I actually plan to add "Possible Resistance to Size Manip" to anyone who can escape to the state of Kirby Inhaling them without swallowing them. So, footage of this much for every Star Ally (or at least just the Dream Friend and some minor enemies).
    • Francisca can trap up to 3 allies at once in her axe, and toss them at the one remaining as projectiles. That could use a gif in her profile.
    • It would be good to prove that any Star Ally other than Kirby can turn Pon & Con (2 characters) with a single Friend Heart at Level 3 Stage 1. A regular enemy turned Star Ally doing this should suffice.
    • Edit: There are some stages where meteors rain down. You can actually block their damage with Guard. When Rick does it, he takes no damage. But I'm not sure if this is bc he has a better Guard than others. We would need to see the common, regular-enemies-turned-Star Allies do this.
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land:
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World:
    • I already know Morpho Knight Sword Kirby's wave attack does not affect the minds of the enemies. However, since we can, we could show footage of this as proof that it can't. It is the first time a Copy Ability fails to copy an ability, and Hal neglected to add this even when more content was added.
    • Many of Meteonelfilis' moves crystallize the ground, and I believe those can be feats for Kirby's Resistance to Transmutation; Use Drill Kirby, be underground as Meteonelfilis uses them moves and raises crystals right where you are. Easier to get is how he has a more where he crystallizes every part of the arena, so be underground when that happens.
  • Kirby Air Riders, 2025
    • For calcs and such, we need to take a good look at certain things to get their sizes right. We know for sure Kirby is 20 cm, so using him, walk slowly, stop by, and stand next to the following: Giant characters within the same depth to get their size. Nova's racing stage, and let's watch it attack that random planet.
      • Can you look backward as you destroy Nova's core in its racing stage and escape it? You appear to almost teleport out of its interior.
      • Can you look upward in the Mysterious Dimension? I want to see if the portal out of it is there always, or only when used.
    • Lava walking:
      • Can you walk on the lava in City Trial without an Air Ride machine? I believe it's harmless.
      • Via Rick's special, the Wheel ability, Kirby's Snow Ball special, and others, you can run around lava in a racing stage, unharmed. We need every method to touch it.
    • Does the Dizzy Beam work on you off the machine? Can we show it?
    • When trapped in an area in City Trial, an Air Ride machine teleports in. We need to show this while looking at the machine poofing in. They can even do this in the Mysterious Dimension.
    • We need good footage of the characters using their phones to summon in an Air Ride machine, like Sakurai showed. Can they do so over and over?
    • The Invincibility Candy: Applying to all users across the series, we need footage of the Invincibility Candy making you immune to:
      • The Dizzy Beam item,
      • Nightmare's illusion powers,
      • Marx's True-form illusion Special,
      • Noar Dedede (When unlocked)'s illusion of darkness special,
      • the item & City Trial event that makes you small (Idk if the Invincibility Candy even makes you immune to those),
      • Power-Down Items (Idk if the Invincibility Candy even makes you immune to those as well; When recording, pause to show your stats, grab the Power-Down Item, and then pause again to show your stats. If the stat you grabbed didn't go down, you are immune to it),
      • Marx's Black Hole,
      • the power-stealing Vamparire Star's bite & Daroach's Special.
      • Being near a Sleep user.
    • Gigantes calcs: Gigantes is one massive juggernaut, great for supporting calcs in AP, Durability, and LS, if those calcs would be nothing next the stats the characters have.
      • Can you survive getting smashed by it in its most brutal ways?
      • When using Gigantes in City Trial, can you attack it and destroy it? Maybe doing so would move it around.
      • Can other players survive getting smashed by it in the most brutal possible in City Trial? Say, fly high, then come down on them.
    • Do falling Parasol Waddle Dees turn into regular Waddle Dees when reaching the ground? We actually list this on Waddle Dee's profile, so if this is the case in this game, we can add it to the list.
    • On City Trial; Free Run, can you destroy your machines and use Machine Call to call them anyway? Can you call them from the floating islands?
Others:
  • The characters canonically revive themselves across the series. And I found a new statement about it saying that it happens even to weak enemies "once you go off-screen." And if you ever played a Kirby game, you know that when you kill an enemy, then go off-screen, and then come back to the area where the enemy was, it is already there again. Obviously, you would think those are game mechanics... but they're not. As such, I was thinking it would be cool to make a collapsible tab in the blog explaining the Self-Resurrection showing every game where this happens 1 by 1, with Kirby & co. killing some enemy, quickly going off screen & coming back to show the same enemy there again.

Thank you for the list. I can help with a lot of those. I've yet to discover the means to record footage in any Nintendo console other than a Switch, but fortunately I have that console along with all the Kirby games on Switch that you're interested in finding footage from.

    • I just want to see Kirby and Bandana Dee crushed by that giant boulder at Level 1 Stage 2. Add it to their feats if they survive. Try to use Guard and not, just in case.
    • When you use a Copy Ability and first upgrate them and talk to the Engineer Waddle Dee, he gives new dialogue about what the ability does. I would like to know if he says anything noteworthy, and if so, what does he say in the Jap. version of the game.

I could get some footage from the english versions of the switch games (plus SS cuz of NSO) I don't have a capture card so it would just be 30 second or less clips tho.

Sorry for the long wait. A few days ago, I posted some footage for this project to my YouTube channel.

I recorded clips of Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee getting hit by the huge boulder in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. When they get hit by the boulder while they aren't guarding, they take some damage, and they briefly get flattened before returning to normal. When they get hit by the boulder while they are guarding, they take no damage and only get pushed away from the boulder.

Here's an update. I currently intend to avoid completing the task in Kirby and the Forgotten Land where I upgrade each Copy Ability for the first time in a playthrough and then immediately make Kirby talk to Engineer Waddle Dee, because I've been in the post-story state of the game with access to all forms of the Copy Abilities since before this project was started, and it would be tedious for me to re-play most of the game on a new save file just for this task. After I shared the video I shared with you already, I've been busy with responsibilities, and during the time I have played video games, I decided to continue playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land in my post-story save file to try collecting the figure collectables I'm still missing in order to 100% the game. I'll get back to playing other Kirby games for the purpose of recording clips to share soon though.

Also, as a bonus, I recorded clips of moments I naturally found in Kirby and the Forgotten Land that are probably rare, although they aren't in this thread's task list. I'll post them here in case you may find them useful.

Excellent job. Very impressive, doing some quick pixelscaling, Kirby is able to reduce the size of things up to 2 meters 40 cm based on that snowball. I didn't know he could do that.
  • This can be useful as more proof in the compilation of Kirby performing similar feats, if that can still be edited.
All those Imgur albums the series uses can be edited bc I made them all. That said, since some time ago, I had issues with my computer and I'm using a more simple one without a video editor. Until I get a better computer, I won't be able to edit videos and add them on Imgur.

Updated the OP with Air Riders requests. It kinda demands having someone to play with just as willing to collect footage.

I should mention that I don't have a Nintendo Switch 2, so I can't record my own footage of the Kirby games exclusive to that system.

Here's some long-awaited footage. I recorded every Team Attack in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe attacking Dimension Walls, but... Unlike what we thought, the Dimension Walls didn't budge.

Was I supposed to be using 4 characters? I don't have enough controllers for that.

I went a step further and checked if Magolor's special moves, Magolor Cannon and Black Hole, would do anything to a Dimension Wall, but the Dimension Wall still didn't budge.

Magolor's powers are at their maximum levels in the footage I recorded of him, by the way.
