Funny thing about Kano (Based on my observation of his playstyle) is that he's not a zoner. Sure he has tools to close the gap but he's fighting a guy who can punch a boulder and has a shotgun. Chris can pretty easily swat him away (Throw in a flash bang to keep him from blocking because aren't stun mechanics FUN?!).

Chris primarily uses firearm and is wired to shoot at the glowing spot in any boss. You can see where this is going (Kano gets shot in the eye, again)

Not to mention, Kano has a pretty bad track record against important figures in Special Forces (At least in MK11). If this were a fight in MK, he'd probably have the misfortune of standing on the right side of the screen when fighting Chris.
