With wall level stats you mean they can use weapons but not the ones that put them at other tier or a battle without weapons? Whatever is I find really hard how Joel can pass the regen of Ethan.

I mean, Joel need to destroy his heart and then later Ethan will come again but more prepared and angrier. Kill him in a first match would be hard but then Joel also have to survive later a second round that he don't expect at all and one in which his opponent is stronger than before because preparation.
It's impossible that he win? No, it's hard that he win one time? Yes, it's even harder that he win a second time? Yes.

Most of his regenerative feats involve him attaching severed limbs with first aid kits. Why not use that as a baseline?
Otherwise, my vote's on Ethan due to the fact that he survived getting his head stomped by Jack Baker who could break walls (Using that as a baseline for his durability) while Joel...
