At best, attack speed. But even then, without anything specific, this should just be creation hax and GG.

Here's my issue. You're assuming the shooting stars must be meteors from the sky. However mildly bright lights from somewhat close by can look the same as very bright lights from far away. Helicopter and airplane lights can look like stars in the night sky.
So it was unlikely that the wizards were celebrating by summoning asteroids from space but were instead either shooting spells that were mistaken to be shooting stars. Especially since these were seen by ordinary people who phoned it in rather than astrologists.
