Is Shanks Haki's Passive?

Just want to know, is shanks have passive?
Not really, but if Shanks is tense during an encounter it leaks out even if he's not attacking.

Because when he knocked out Whitebeard's crew, he specifically states that he released his Haki because they are an enemy crew.

There are other instances, such as not knocking out Luffy nor Uta (when they were children), or the pirates that insulted him in the first chapter.

Yes, he has in profile and whitebeard says "and yet you bare your haki power without constraint", that is, as long as he does not constraint it, he can capable of passively knocking dozens of the pirates who survived in the new world and damage the ship.

it becomes passive when he's not chill/relaxed... He's meeting with someone like whitebeard, so it's expected for him to be on guard/cautious

no... Why would it only be inverse? That's how his senses work via observation haki... Unless you're just removing all of his haki abilities
If he cannot make this clairvoyance without being prepared, he is very likely to lose to a character with a higher speed.

It is a fallacy to assume that because a power is in one character, it is also in another without proof, I am not someone who knows the OP, be a little more descriptive.

Observation haki, when unlocked, gives you many new and improved senses...
Hear and See
The ability to sense the presence of others. By enhancing this ability, one can avoid attacks from blind spots, and read the number of enemies and what they are going to do next. The "mind net" of the sky islands is a similar power.
Shanks has one even better which is one level above that
Polish up your "haki" to a higher level!

Future Foresight
Those who have mastered the art of "the color of seeing and hearing" are able to foresee the future a little ahead of time. They can tell in advance what their opponent will do next, what he will say, and even how he will react.
So the scan I showed was beginner level observation haki from luffy, so it scales to those with better obs haki

It's passive but he can "turn it off". However, it remains passive in combat. Users inferior to Shanks in Haki can use Haoshoku and Kenbunshoku even when knocked out or asleep.

Even if we don't have any conclusive evidence at the moment, it seems to me that it is likely to be passive, and in the future we will probably have tangible evidence.
