If memory serves right doesnt Goku have to consintrate for it to wirk proporly? Like if he's distracted dosent it not work?

He does need concentration, however it can be used in battle situations so long as he remains focused.

Yes concentration is need but apparently he can Spam it now in DBS.

Come to think of it, he did use Instant Transmission against Beerus in the film twice by teleporting behind him to land some blows in the underground cavern. I forgot how different it is on Dragon Ball Super.
