IDW Godzilla Downgrade

The Trilopods are an alien power absorbing race that are commanded by Emperor Karkaro.

He unleashed them in the planet in order to take the powers from other kaiju like Godzilla.

He plans to feed Magita (the strongest Trilopod) with the earth kaiju and after that turn the planet into ashes with the Trilopods.
Okay, good

Okay, so theres a huge problem here in that the explosion visibly did not wipe the surface of the planet here
That's the dumbest thing to ever even try to say, for multiple reasons.
A) if it detonated and just surface wiped, story's over. Period.
B) the explosion KOed stronger monsters than the Kingdom feat which literally created a shockwave over a continental distance and parted the clouds while shaking the planet for a prolonged period of time. So taking this at face value and saying "well the explosion isn't ACTUALLY that big so downgrade" is blatantly disingenous and we all know that.
C) the ship crashed into Magita, it's easy to say it just blocked most of the explosion.
And D) the surface wiping statements via a detonation/the monsters is FAR too consistent to just be some stupid "well a building level dude can surface wipe in like 20 years"
You have to break the narrative to try making this point. And break consistency. AND try to stand an outlier to make that work.
