they are created by the negative feelings and emotions that the insults creates on people, they are not made of the insult itself, dark gaia is all above negative emotions, the context makes it clear that it isn't literal words, besides, that wouldn't be text manipulation anyway since it wouldn't be a text at all, but spoken words, unless you say that they are made out of sound also.....
