VSBW said, "The avatar form of The Presence is incapable of killing The Great Evil Beast, with both being equal halves of the same whole."
A misconception forgetting that the reason why the Presence was involved when "GEB" invaded Heaven was because the latter lost its raison d'être when God said: "Let there be light", i.e the Primordial Light associated either with the Life Entity or the Source in John Byrne interpretation in Jack Kirby's Fourth World #1.
That Primordial Light very reason why "GEB" took refuge in the Shadowlands after God said those words, since the Darkness was not yet aware that it was complimentary to the Primordial Light before the conclusion in Swamp Thing #50.
Therefore, it means that the Darkness relationship is more in relation to Creation itself, being the cause of the loss of its the raison d'être, than the Presence. In regards to the Presence, it was stated in Swamp Thing #75 that that beyond mortal, demigods, gods, the war between Light and Darkness (referring to Swamp Thing #50), matter, all obstacles, there is God, one with the Void:
To a point where time is no time... and space is no space... where one may silently observe... as God breathes in... and God breathes out. Exhaling his quintessence of perfection.
Therefore, the Presence (God) transcends the duality between the Primordial Darkness and the Primordial Light. Especially it supported by the fact that the Void is the only plane of existence transcending the dualistic realms of the DC Universe, as shown on the Map of the Multiverse.
So, it is a misconception to believe that the Darkness is equal to the Presence with the reasons given above. The only reason why the Presence became involved against the invasion of "GEB" is to give its raison d'être when they reached each other to form the yin and yang symbol, meaning that both Darkness and Light are complementary each other.
In fact, all these Primordial Darkness figure ("GEB", Pralaya, Nekron although the latter is a distinct case of the first two) have common motifs: They embody the Primordial Darkness in which began the creation of the Universe caused by the Primordial Light in the context of Creation myth (supporting that mankind interpret their own Creation story in the context of their belief system), as explained Lucifer in Sandman Presents: Lucifer.
"The Bible tells that story in terms of time -- one thing after another. First there was Darkness, then there was Light. Your people remember it differently. They see the Darkness as a tunnel that they crawled through to reach the Light. A vertical tunnel. The Light was in another place, far above. This means nothing to you, does it?"
Therefore, the Primordial Darkness that the figures mentioned embody is just for settings purposes in which the creation of the Universe begins in the context of the various interpretations of Creation story. Supporting further that the relationship of "GEB", Pralaya, Nekron is in relation to Creation rather than the Creator/Supreme Being/God, as it shown in their respective cases in which they were defeated by the the cause that creates the Universe (apart from GEB, since it was not in the plan of the Presence to defeat it, but to give its raison d'être).
