If the galaxy is at least as large as the Milky Way, it does.

What if there’s nothing that touches upon the size of said Galaxy, will the range just be assumed to be baseline galactic?

If nothing’s provided about size, and nothing would contradict it being a spiral galaxy, we typically assume it’s a Milky Way like galaxy.
