Dormammu Question

On Dormammu's page, he is listed to be 2-A at his peak. The reasoning for this is that he defeated Multi-Eternity and remade all universes. While I can see remaking all universes in an infinite multiverse as being 2-A, how is defeating a High 1-B character any merit to this ranking?

Was Eternity not shown at full power in the comic? If he was weaker than average due to writing, a note or removal of the reasoning would be best, since it is contradictory without prior knowledge. If he was max power, why would this lead to 2-A?

Any comments appreciated.

If I had to guess, that would be because his fight with Multi-Eternity was discarded, and the feat that went after was what they were actually rating. I think what would be more fitting is Recreated all universes in his own hellish image after defeating Multi-Eternity. As in the universe changing is the feat, not defeating Multi-Eternity. There's probably a better way to word that, though.

Maybe a note putting that Eternity was not full strength; linking a High 1-B to justify a 2-A rating isn't exactly... accurate...

He was simply stated to have recreated all universes within the story, which is a semi-outlier by itself. However, stating that a normally Low 2-C, character is suddenly at tier High 1-B, must be considered as a completely unreliable outlier, or rather as that Multi-Eternity was not displayed at its full scale of power.

That said, Dormammu may be the most inconsistent character in Marvel comics. He could have been interpreted as anywhere from 9-B (beaten by Frankenstein's Monster) to 1-A (fought Multi-Eternity in a place beyond space and time), depending on the storyline, so we had to try to find some sort of remotely reasonable rating.

The solution is simple. Keep him at Low 2-C since that is generally the consistent depiction (Comparable to the likes of Universal Eternity and stronger than Classic Strange who himself has numerous universal feats). Erase the 2-A key completely.

Okay. Feel free to modify the profile accordingly. I would appreciate if you insert an explanatory footnote as well.

Anyway, I agree that Ghost Rider is very inconsistent, but his inconsistencies do not reach the sheer scale that I mentioned earlier.

I think Matt meant there are more cases of Ghost Rider being inconsistent than there are cases of Dormammu being inconsistent. But of course Dormammu's cases are far more absurd with things like 9-B to 1-A.

Preferably, yes. I would prefer if Matthew handles it though.

But of course. I wouldn't know enough about the situation to properly word the needed footnote. I can't touch his page as is either way.

We really don't need a footnote. The existences of outliers shouldn't need to be explained in footnotes as every character has them. Only a dishonest downplayer would treat 9-B Dormammu as anything but a joke, and likewise only a fanboy would consider his High 1-B and 1-A feats as acceptable.

Every character has outliers if you scrap and look for them.

I meant that it was technically stated outright that he rewrote all universes in his image, and that there is a risk that people will repeatedly try to use the Defenders story to upgrade Dormammu to ridiculous degrees... Or at least my experience is that it tends to pop up every now and then.

Hence, an explanation is preferable, in order to avoid confusion.
