Do creation feats require an accompanying destruction feat?

It doesn't have to be pure destruction, but that is one of several optional things to back it up. Whether it be lore on universal energy sources or simply showing the ability to shake their own creations with physical strikes are also possible back up feats.

Yes, they do as per our new standards
Can't believe I'm late to this, but no, THEY DO NOT require you to destroy a universe to prove that your universe creation feat scales to AP, as DT has stated here:

"Yeah, as far as we agreed in the thread you don't need a normal city level feat to prove that a city level creation feat scales (that would be completely pointless tbh).
It's sufficient to proof that your creation spells don't use more of your power than your attack spells. Of course it's a different issue should it be a complete outlier, but that is outlier business as usual."

So yes, universal energy systems are perfectly viable for scaling creation feats to AP.
