The only possible reason you gave is power null, and that is assuming ut can affect something in another reality

Just a note about the idea of Discord using power null...

If his only apparent feat was removing the obvious sources of Twilight and Rarity's magic, AKA the horns that ******' glow every time they cast a spell, how would he apply that to a being like Cthulu, who doesn't have an obvious source of his magical power?

Cthulhu doesn't use magic as his power, and he doesn't have a horn on his head (obviously), so yeah.

Even then, Discord could try to take away his magic, but Cthulhu would need a horn on his head. Even if Discord takes away Cthulhu's magic, that doesn't do much to rid him of his powers. Mind Manipulation and Madness Manipulation is basically what he reeks of.

Cthulhu's passive mindhax isn't that good, btw. It's only useful if his opponent hasn't encountered anything borderline eldritch before.
