Sorry for yet another Digimon thread, but I just finished watching the new batch of Digimon Tri episodes and in the climax of the last one, something very interesting happened.

MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD

Ken Ichijouji (whose a bad guy, again..) kidnapped Meicoomon, and Palmon, Leomon and Gomamon go to save her. While in the disortion world, Ken sicks Imperialdramon DM to attack them. These are some impressive feats I derived from the fight.

Togemon and Gomamon vs Imperialdramo

Off the bad I apologize, the fight scenes were animated in a weird way and its hard to get good scans.

Palmon, Gomamon and Leomon tanking his attacks. If im not mistaken, Imperialdramon DM is roughly as powerful as Wargreymon, or at least Myotsimon. Either way, might be an outlier and they didn't tank it lightly. And in another, similar attack it appears that Palmon and Gomamon were only hit by the edges of the attack and didn't suffer a direct blow.

Togemon and Gomamon survived a direct, but casual blow.

Togemon even gets up after the hit.

Those feats are probably all outliers, though Digimon durability has always been a bit weird. Gomamon even mentions that hes "almost over", but I can't find the exact scene atm.

Their are some other stuff, like Ikkakumon and Zudomon hurting Imperialdramon, but those seem like PIS.

Vikemon and Rosemon's time to shine
Well, this happened...

Yup, Gomamon warp-digivolved, well..kinda. Palmon does it too..but before that, Lilymon seemingly damages Imperialdramon, though with how the fight scene was animated its hard to tell.

Again, could be PIS.

Anyway, she digivolves once more to Rosemon and hits Imperialdramon pretty hard.

The Imperialdramon mode changes into Fighter mode who according to official lore can destroy planets "It is said that the power to destroy a planet dwells in its attacks", this is somewhat backed up by the fact that he be stronger than WarGreymo, and somewhat comparable to Omegamon (who defeated Alphamo)

Vikemon trades blows with him

And Rosemon even beam struggles against him

Which results in her favor

I apologize, its hard to make out what happens next but it appears that they fuse their attacks to completely destroy it.

Final thoughts and scaling
I believe this would up Vikemon and Rosemon from "Unknown" to "5-B" for defeating Imperialdramon. This would scale to Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon, but for them I think it should be "Low 5-B, 5-B as of Tri" or something along those lines. At the very least I feel that Vikemon and Rosemon should be "Low 5-B, likely higher" or something among those lines.

Thoughts? Questions? Did any scan look out of context? If so I can probably try to find a better one.

Thanks anyone for reading this, I know its kind of a mess but I wanted it to be as thorough as possible.

I just watched that. I think this rating is reasonable enough, considering the fact that all of the DigiDestined were on par with each other in terms of raw power with the exception of Angemon and MagnaAngemon until we hit Mega level.

The only possible problem with this I could possibly see is a consistency issue (Imperialdramon Fighter Mode is the powered up form of a Mega-level DNA Digivolved, so it's kind of weird how two normal Megas could stand against it, aside from that case of BlackWarGreymon). But otherwise, nothing really to poke at.

On a side note, I was disappointed by the animation quality of the episode. It's as if the entire animation budget went into the Omnimon vs Alphamon fight and the rest went down the drain.

You mean you didn't enjoy the static crowds cheering Mimi on? Yeah, the animation was pretty bad this time around, at least the writing was really good.

As for the consistency issue, that is a bit weird. Maybe because they both seemed to be faster than him, and Leomon did distract him (I think? It was hard to tell..), I dunno.

Leomon's distraction was primarily to cause Imperialdramon to miss more than anything. They were fighting on par with him and Zudomon even batted him away with Vulcan's Hammer, so I don't see the speed issue.

In hindsight, we can't really call it an outlier since this is Vikemon's first appearance in the anime and Rosemon went against the Royal Knights in Savers.

Edit: It also just occurred to me that we'd also have to give Imperialdramon resistance to Absolute Zero ice due to the nature of Vikemon's Arctic Blizzard.

I'm noticing a lot of people saying that the Imperialdramon was weaker for being affected by Leomon, so maybe we should rank Rosemon and Vikemon at "At least Low 5-B" for now? I dunno.

I mean, if it would appease them sure, (it does make sense that two Low 5-Bs could take on a 5-B), but honestly Digimon is all over the place with its power levels. At least Low 5-B sounds alright, but the whole Leomon thing shouldn't be that much of an issue (considering the fact that he and Ogremon are well above their weight class in power, tangling with SkullGreymon and all).

I'd argue all Leomon did was act as a distraction. He appears out of nowhere, surprising Imperialdramon, and he went down from an automatic drawback and failed giga crusher. Leomon couldn't so much as scratch dragon mode and in ANY version of Imperialdramon Fighter mode is considerably stronger. PLUS this was an Infected Imperialdramon, who was stronger than he had been in Zero Two. No, Leomon was a distraction, he didn't hurt him. If the infected fighter mode could match both Rosemon and Vikemon, Leomon who is orders of magnitude weaker than either is a handy smoke bomb at best. Just think it was a shame we didn't see SaberLeomon.
