Do we have any more details beyond the ending shows a conversation of the writers working together? In DC's case, there are plenty of times where the writers make physical appearances in the comics, are visually shown Grant Morrison wrecking the Presence just by drawing him beaten or wounded on a sheet of paper, and some of them can even sacrifice their godly powers to descend into their own comics.
