both are low 7-b, 30% deku is used and speed is equal

Sonic: 4.7 Megatons, higher with Spin Attack

Advantages:

Can one shot people on par with his base with the Spin Attack

Can speed amp to blitz(?) people on his level, though idk how true that is. He can make himself faster is all I know, so I’ll assume it’s blitz level.

Super Hearing (need clarification)

Afterimages that function in Speed Equal.

Range(?). Tremors and explosions but I don’t believe he can actually attack with these?

Disadvantages:

Combat skill does not appear to be high

Lack of actual versatility beyond spin attack and speed amp.

Does not immediately go for one shot in character.

Deku: Stronger than 1.66 Megatons, higher with Fa Jin

Advantages:

Precognition and Extrasensory Perception with Danger Sense. He will always know where and when Sonic is attacking him unless it’s a blitz, as well as his relative position.

Analytical Prediction. Allows him to dodge attacks that are faster than his Danger Sense. Lets him predict attacks and movements several steps ahead. Can adapt to and predict blitz level attacks within seconds of experiencing them.

7-A Shields/Mid Gauntlet and High 7-A Iron Soles. Protection that he permanently has on himself (because he’s supposed to be at 45% all the time) and utilizes to defend against attacks.

Smokescreen. Blinds foes while he can still sense their hostility through his Danger Sense.

Fa Jin speed amp. Builds up kinetic energy to make Deku faster by an unknown amount, though it seems to be nearly Blitz level. Increases his AP as well. Can be used at least twice before needing to be built up again.

Blackwhip. Due to Class G lifting strength, can overwhelmingly out muscle the opponent without having to touch them.

Ranged Attacks/AoE. With his Air Pressure, can cause attacks hundreds of meters in size.

Massive intelligence difference. Is smarter in nearly every way possible, which is combined into his Analytical Prediction.

Disadvantages:

Danger Sense becomes useless if opponent is faster than it. Requires time to be able to react to blitz tier attacks with his analytical prediction (at least several seconds after experiencing a blitz).

Fa Jin requires time to be built up, and must be recharged after being fully used.

Blackwhip can, and has been, broken by lesser attacks than his own if directly targeted.

7-A/High 7-A shields are only on his arms, legs and feet.

My Verdict:

Despite the AP difference, Deku handles Sonic quite easily until the Super Peel Out and Spin Attack come into play.

He will quickly realize that Sonic is stronger than him, and will prioritize defense and counter attacks after seeing the Super Peel Out (which Sonic doesn’t hold back showing). After adapting to the speed difference enough to predict the Super Peel Out, Deku can begin avoiding and even blocking Sonic’s attacks, using the Mid Gauntlet and Iron Soles to completely tank the force of them. With this, he can proceed to tie up Sonic’s limbs with Blackwhip, preventing him from curling up, then beat him down with Fa Jin, which he will have stored up over the course of the combat.

Sonic’s afterimages seem to be defensive only, and Sonic doesn’t seem to attack right after? I can’t find a good clip of what’s exactly giving thin afterimages, but overall they don’t seem to be anything that Danger Sense or Analytical Prediction can’t handle.

Another option for Deku is to use smokescreen to blind Sonic, allowing for quick dodges away from his attacks. This is dependent, of course, on how good Sonic’s hearing is, and might not matter (smokescreen stays useless tbh)

The biggest issue for Deku is should Sonic use the Spin Dash and attempt to one shot him. The only way for Deku to avoid this attack is to:

A. Have had enough time to predict Sonic’s speed, and thus dodge the Spin Attack with a quick body movement.

B. Block the Spin Attack with his Mid Gauntlets or Iron Soles

C. Blind Sonic so he misses the Spin Attack

D. Amp with Fa Jin and dodge the Spin Attack with his own speed amp

With these options, Deku not getting defeated by the Spin Attack easily, or at least before he has the time to grab Sonic’s limbs with Blackwhip and prevent him from moving or curling up for further attacks, is a likely scenario.

My vote goes to Deku. As long as he has a few seconds to understand the speed difference with the Super Peel Out, as well as how strong Sonic is, then his “react and counter” fighting style should allow him to succeed. He has far more versatility and options to use that can get him out of situations he would likely lose in, and his own intelligence is enough to make use of every advantage he could possibly have. If Sonic started with the Spin Attack, he would win cause blitz, but Deku just needs the barest amount of time to realize the speed disadvantage to be able to use his numerous counter measures.

Deku takes it by the grace of Analytical Prediction.
