Yo, trying to make a neat little collab for a respect thread I'm making (not for VSBW) anyone mind listing all the episodes where an FTL feat occurs in DBS? I'm not necessarily looking for calcs, just a feat that would be FTL (Ex: Beerus crossing a nebula, Hit crossing a a considerable amount of distance in 0.5 seconds, etc)

If you have any screenshots on hand that would be much appreciated, but if it would require you to go out of your way then there's no need.
 
Episode 1 (or 2) has one (Beerus outpacing thst explosion, calced at 6c if I recall), episode 3 has Beerus doing the interstellar crossing.

Literally every episode with Whis almost.
 
Don't hold your breath on that "Hit crossing a considerable amount of distance in 0.5 seconds". Even assuming he crossed a hundred million meters in .5 seconds he wouldn't be FTL. However there are plenty of FTL DBS feats.

Beerus flying to the nebula, Whis flying to other universes multiple times, Goku Black gathering the Super Dragons Balls scattered across 2 universes, Watagash flying from an unknown solar system to earth shortly, Super Shenron growing bigger than a galaxy in seconds, Super Shenron eventually being so big that his teeth drawf galaxies, Zen'ō's blast encompassing the universe/multiverse instantly, etc.
 
The arale episode has a insane speed feat for Whis, of course not sure we count that due to the episodes nature (then again he does state hes never gone that fast before so it was a first).
 
All you will get short with that: the only quantificable ftl feats are the gazillions of times that people calculated and recalculated Beerus and Whis flight, le filler villian Watagash, and Zen'o instantly erasing the universes (that personally is more a range+hax feat rather than speed).

Other quantificable are pretty underwhelming; guess people could calculate Hit reacting to the super kamehameha, but I predict that the result would be around FTL, so still undetwhelming.
 
Whis crossed the universe in 3 days (Don't downplay this with "the dragon ball universe is smaller", that scale was only shown to be smaller, so people could piece the universe together easier), super saiyan god goku dodged a light explosion around him at the last minute, (when i say last minute i mean the explosion already formed and he dodged it, making him way faster than light), frieza saga goku also did this (but this was at the instant of the blast), Beerus goes millions of killometers from a planet explosion in seconds, beerus moves two thirds whis' speed, whis can travel across a nebula in the blink of an eye, and probably goes faster since we can't see things in an eye blink, Respect Dragon Ball Super Anime : respectthreads Respect Goku (Namek) : respectthreads also look at the note section of the anime so you can see why the dbs universe is as big as our universe
 
Also, when Whis does that weird thing where he covers himself and Beerus in the warp thing, does that mean he can only move that fast when using that ability or...?
 
Doesnt matter, Beerus is 60% of Whis' speed anyway and he still need reactions to control it as he's been shown zigzaggin between planets before.
 
combat and reaction speed are noted to be roughtly comparable in the db verse, while travel speed is like 10 to 20 percent less, this is based on opponents just being 25 to 50 percent faster and opponents can even see them, however whis has auto combat, so whis is far faster, but he still does have limits based on his comments about dakaishin Great Priest | Dragon Ball Wiki | FANDOM powered by Wikia
 
What? No not 40 seconds into the episode, the time span it took him to do so was 40 seconds.

Unless you're japing me.
 
No he crosses that distance in 40 seconds if i recall, there's a timeframe given. It's in the episode with the caveman aliens. Whi ch I think is 3
 
Iirc, Beerus gave Whis 3 minutes to go to the planet and get him some food. Beerus gets impatient and goes by himself when it's only been 2 minutes and 20 seconds.
 
You're right, it took Whis like a minute to get there roughly iirc and Beerus left after the 2 minutes and 20 seconds and got there befire the 3 minutes was up.
 
There's still Whis crossing the distance from earth to Beerus' place in like 4 seconds, although don't think we count that.
 
Not sure, he dud say he doesnt think he's ever gone that fast before.

And yeah, don't think we count anything in that.
 
So, since the question has been answered, should we close this thread?
 
nah, we should wait for more feats to see if they get faster, we now have characters like jiren and the priest, we also have a possible form for goku.

ptsoxmonkey, that feat where he got from his place to earth in seconds was probably a joke scene thing, usually it takes 26 minutes, so beerus' place is 33672637440000000000000000 km away from earth.
 
we already gave scans or feats from the episodes, now we are discussing the nature of the feats, look at the whole thread before you say that.

Also, another quick question, how do we treat Dyspo's speed? I know he was stated to be faster than sound and light, but was that when he was in base or when he was using his speed amplification?
 
But my main concern is that that Toppo states "Through repeated battles, he's surpassed the speed of sound and light."

He says this after Dyspo uses his speed boost to blitz Hit, so what should I make of this?
 
Well, he did state he was fast before using his boost, and can multiply his speed thousands of times, so meh.
 
Id recommened going to the revision thread to find out, i avoided the Dyspo speed stuff, i didn't wanna take part in that mess.
 
we should treat the dyspo thing as statistics amplification, also the full power warp thing still likely is a joke, as he said that he could get to earth in 26 minutes at full power, given the nature of the episode, this is likely true
