Darth Vader VS Kakashi

Kakashi's profile isn't updated, someone has a sandbox for him already. I'd suggest swapping it to Obito as he has the same eye + the match was done already on DB

Would it affect the key used in this match?
Yes. The profile has objectively wrong abilities too. It says his aura made Sasuke want to kill himself when it was Zabuza's bloodlust doing that. Profile hasn't been touched in a min, but someone is actively working on it.

I thought swapping to Obito would be fine, but Vader is too fodder to have a key outside of tier 7.

That I can't help you with. My Legends Luke is rusty.

It's in Force Sensitive. Seriously. It's right there. Did Force Choke or Telekinesis showing up nowhere on the profile not tip you off that there was a link to click?
No it didn't coz I'm not much of a star wars guy.

It doesn't matter though , he'd see himself under mind manipulation but he wouldn't know how exactly it happened so he'd still fall under the same stuff

Like I said, he'd go for instant mogs. If that means turning Kakashi's organs to paste, he's gonna do that.

Substitutiom jutsu. Kakashi would be fine
Vader can do this across planets. And that substitution needs to basically be passive and not take any movements because all Vader needs to do is close his fist to be instantly lethal.

Substitution jutsu is not a matter of range, it's about substituting yourself with something else Asin the choke would happen to a lump of wood.
It's not even necessary as he doesn't even have the LS required to do that one kakashi

Okay maybe I wasn't clear enough.

Kakashi doesn't have precognition. He can't just see himself die. He has no way of knowing that a dude closing his fist is decidedly lethal to him. And Lifting Strength doesn't matter because unless Kakashi is somehow pressing out with his organs with something like Body Control, he can't out-LS the Force inside him.

You were clearly enough.
1. Kakashi does have Precog
2. Substitution works even after the effect has happened
3. Chakra pathways run through even internally and shinobi activity coat themselves with chakra so he'd be fine.

In the off chance he gets a chance to do it, substitution still kicks in and the next time vadar sees kakashi he's under genjutsu

He has Analytical Prediction. It's a much different ballgame because he can't see himself die, or know what Vader is going to do beyond close his fist.

I'd like to see it reversing High-low to Low-mid levels of damage

That's not constantly applying LS. Unless his steps are exerting class G forces on the ground and destroying it with every step?

That's enough to know he's attacking

Even damage that completely hacks someone to pieces, it still works on it

It is still re-enforcement with chakra which would still carry his weight behind it

The profile seems to treat the ability as occurring before it hits the person and only making the illusion that they were actually hit by the attack. How exactly is that useful here if Vader decides to fk with his organs with the force? There would be no "before" for the ability to occur if he closes his hand and destroys his organs, especially if he can't reasonably know that's something vader is about to do.

And, even if it does activate after damage sets in, how is that exactly useful here? it sets in and Kakashi's organs have been turned to mush? I don't quite understand.

The closing his hands to **** with his organs, he's already under the substitution illusion

He'd never have the opportunity to do this.
In fact he'd be in genjutsu.

This is part 1 kakashi and genuinely his first move in character is genjutsu. Before vadar even raises his hands up he'd be under genjutsu

Vader would know from precog no? Then he can just force nuke Kakashi without Kakashi being able to do anything to stop it.

He will know then do what? Any action he wants to take would still be slower than kakashi looking at him

He'd dead ass see himself getting controlled in the future but won't know how to stop it. To do that he'd need to know that it was eye contact that caused it and then shut his eyes before doing anything..

speed is equalized

Vader doesn't necessarily have to know exactly how it happens just that it can, and that would just make him go for instant long range force crush

speed is equalized
There's a huge gap between sharingan speed and normal combat speed. Specifically the sharingan is 2 blitz tiers above regular combat speed, one of them being a perception blitz.

And again he'd be under genjutsu before he can do that. There is no scenario where Vader raises his hand before kakashi looks at him

Can I have scans of Kakashi opening with Genjutsu on an unknown opponent?

Isn't it canon that Vader's actual eyes are blind due to his severe burns, and that he can only "see" through the optics in his helmet and the force? How would that interact with Genjutsu?

He can see, his eyes are just weak (not that it makes any difference to a Jedi/Sith).

Yeah, but going off the descriptions given, his eyes are still pretty ****** up

So would Genjustu even work on him in the first place, since he doesn't use his actual eyes to see?

They come from The Revenge of the Sith novelization, which is still considered canon where it aligns with the movies.
You didn't understand. Some "parts" of the novel are canon because sometimes it's 1:1 with the movie, and the movie is canon. So obviously the 1:1 scene mentioned would be canonical. But the novel itself isn't canon since it's entirely based on the Legends universe; even things that don't contradict the movie itself contradict the new canon, like Vader's birth being described in a way that contradicts the current canon.

We've already received information that books before 2014 aren't canon, which includes the novels of the movies.

The ROTS novel was also republished in 2025.
That doesn't matter. This is just a re-release, not a re-edition to make it canon like the 2017 novels.

The deluxe version remains based on Legends.

Even though they replaced the Legends Timeline with the Canon timeline in the Deluxe Edition? Do they usually do that for re-released Legends Books?
