Basically, you just take a character, random or not, and just corrupt them for better or worse

I got the idea from "Explain a Plot Badly" where I started making the villains of Fire Emblem Awakening seem like really good guys and made Chrom out to be a tyrant, while Robin was brainwashed into fighting against his homeland and thought "Huh, this could be a pretty good thread"

Dio Brando

He's just an aspiring chef who was adopted into a family that did not accept his specialty hotdogs, and then later gets interested in his "brother's" studies and is gunned down by police while he's testing it for him, he is then beaten down by his "brother" after his "father" jumps into the knife he's holding

He later wakes up from his coma and is hunted down, hiring people to defend himself from his attackers

No, this can be to make a character seem better or worse than what they actually are

Of course, making them seem better is easiest when you're making a villain seem like they've done nothing wrong

I am disappoint.
Okay then.

Brilliant scientist and businessma takes neglected child under his wing, trains him, makes him an outstanding citizen of the galaxy, eventually an outstanding leader. Sets in motion a plan that will see the rise of a noble new order and the end of the corrupt and stagnant Republic as well as the end of the evil and genocidal Jedi cult.

A big brother is forced into executing his sister in the name of order, and then some orange haired guy and his friends come in and wreck the whole thing, sending the afterlife in total disarray and letting a dude fake his death and start a big scheme.

Vader seems like an easy one to do
Protector of the noble Chancellor Palpatine, he who saw the light and turned away from the evil and genocidal Jedi cult, was cut down and left horribly disfigured by his former teacher who spouted lies such as claiming to love him. Noble Palpatine sees to it that he gets the best possible medical treatment and best quality prosthetics. Reborn as a righteous warrior of the New Order and more loyal to noble Palpatine than ever, he leads our brave and skilled Stormtroopers against all who would threaten peace and security in our great empire.

Julius (Fire Emblem)

A spoiled brat who uses a dead lizard god as an excuse to be evil, while he was merely only acting like a nice person before getting the Loptyr tome because he just wasn't Country level yet and couldn't reveal his true self
