Causality Manipulation

What is and how does Causality manipulation work ? Can someone explain with example. This thing is too complicated for my dumb ass.

Causality Manipulation is changing Cause & Effect.

There are multiple kinds of Causality Manipulation. This is because there are multiple possible ways a hypothetical fictional character could manipulate Causality.
For example:
1. Change what EFFECT a Cause has. Ex: Throwing an orange at a wall instead CAUSES the EFFECT of an apple appearing at the point of impact on the wall, instead of the thrown orange splattering.
2. Change what CAUSE is tied to an effect. Ex: The EFFECT of an orange splattering is now not BECAUSE of a powerful impact, but because of being in contact with a person's hand.

I'm quite confident there are other ways to use it, but those are just some of the simpler means.

From what I've read, it seems that if someone rewrites reality, that can also be Causality Manipulation, because the new reality has made people think or act differently or the world behaves differently, & history is different.

A rather extensive VSBW blog I read recently gave some examples of application of Causality Manipulation in that setting. I'll quote it, since those may provide insight into how Causality Manipulation is.

Here's the blog in full, but unless you wanna dive into an analysis of abilities in Fairly Odd Parents as far as VSBW is concerned, you don't have to read this blog. The linked section is what I'm quoting from now:

There are many occasions where fairy magic generates big changes on how the world works. Sometimes stuff is changed in the present and everyone just has their minds altered to proceed with it, on others there are genuine changes in the past & history. And other times it's just left unclear.

The quote also has timestamps regarding when what happens, if you want to find the content in the episodes to view yourself.

  • Wished for his life to be like an action movie (1:44), changing up physical things in the world (like his house) and how people look, act and their motivations, like having an evil Jorgen who created a magic-sucking machine or ninjas attacking Timmy without C&W creating them right before they appeared, it's implied that more exciting things C&W aren't aware of would keep happening should the wish continue. Timmy later wished everything back to normal. (Action Packed)
  • In Abra-Catastrophe! Bippy uses the magic muffin to make monkeys the rulers of Earth and every human apart from Timmy acts as if this were something that was always a thing (25:56). Timmy's mom at one point makes a comment about how she and Timmy's dad are going to be late for work again when being attacked by leopards, implying that this has already happened before (32:02). In history class they teach "historically accurate" events that happened in this new reality (32:29). Crocker says that, in a world where magic and fairies exist, "who cares about history? History means nothing! If they wanted to, fairies could change the world so that humans were the dominant species!", A.J. then says that Crocker claims that apes have fairies all the time (32:52). Later Cosmo alone turns everything back to normal. (40:28)
  • Timmy wishes for AJ's dad to be his dad (2:39), later for Chester's dad to be his dad (5:33) and later for Sanjay's stepdad to be his dad. (7:28. Who's Your Daddy?)
  • Timmy wishes he was never born (2:17). Later he wishes to Jorger to have never wished to have never been born. (8:38. It's A Wishful Life)
  • Timmy wishes to have a big brother (2:47) and later wishes for the continent of Tibecuador to exist to justify where his brother has been (3:24). Timmy's Mom rapidly ages due to being older for having another son and Tibecuador is proven to be a place with people and culture (6:10), upon wishing to be an only child again his mother rejuvenates and his brother disappears.......to become someone else's brother in Tibecuador. (10:23. Oh, Brother!)
  • Timmy wishes for the world to be futuristic and high tech like in some comic he had (2:17). Crocker was known and mocked for thinking that robots are evil. (5:13. Future Lost)
  • Timmy wishes for Vicky to be fired from being mayor, but it results in her presently being the President due to a ripple in time-wish continuum being hit (9:58), trying to wish her to not be the President makes her presently being supreme evil overlord. (10:17. Vicky Gets Fired)

Hopefully this helps!

Also, who tf is Timmy and what tf is wrong with him.
Timmy Turner. What's wrong with him is he's a 10 year old in a long-running comedy series (& the protagonist of it, no less.) about a kid who's life was so terrible he was given Fairy God Parents who can grant his every wish. Thus, the premise of the series.
Understandably, him making wishes, & his fairies granting them like is detailed in the examples tends to be necessary for a lot of episodes' plots.

But this is a thread about what is Causality Manipulation, not what is Fairly Odd Parents. Any other questions?

I see. Well, I understand Causality now so no more questions. Also thanks.
