Yes but his "Serious Punch" is actually just putting a little "more" effort to his punch, it's not that he actually becomes serious when he punches. It's obvious that the author did it in a flavorful way because it'd be a dull scene if he didn't. That's not enough of a reference because Saitama used it due so that the shock wave of the punch would destroy the Centipede's enormous size & length. A simple shockwave of a casual punch would just destroy the head area and kill it.
