Cameos

so im currently working on a blog for a verse that was written by the same guy. and there are cameos of the characters he has from other books. this technically means that they inhabit the same cosmology. therefore i should be able to use statements from the other books for the blog right??

It depends on what effect the cameos actually have on the story. If the cast walks by a character that's described as another character from the authour's previous work, or they happen to arrive in a location that's named similarly to another location from said previous work, I'd take it as more of a cheeky reference that the author added to entertain older fans.

Let's flip the cards. If this story takes place in a similar setting, and this strange character is actually the character from the previous works (same name, likely the same powers and manner of speech), and this similar location has the same history as that location from the previous work, then yeah it'd be acceptable to assume it's the same cosmology.
