Buzzing Rushing Soul (Streak vs Swarm) [GRACE]

Swarm will start with an aggressive approach, but he would change the way he’ll battle if Streak gives him fits. His enhanced senses are really good as he can detect attacks even without knowing an opponent is present at all so at the very least he ought to dodge well

Yeah, Swarm’s senses will stop any attempts of stealth Streak could make. Still, Streak is highly skilled, taking down countless criminals and Nite who was basically a one man army with his sword. Bleak Havoc should go well against Swarm’s blades especially since he has the strength to win most clashes. And taking on aggressive foes is a thing with him given the people he’s fought like Nite and Snow Bro whose snowflake could make waves of ice to impale people with.

Swarm is skilled enough to face off directly with Hotaru, who’s basically a more skilled version of Genos. She’s not as skilled as Ako is (he’s able to dodge Vacterian spikes despite queen Vacteria knowing where he’ll be) but she’s in the same ballpark so Swarm shouldn’t be too outskilled, though she was better than him in that regard. Although he doesn’t have any traditional weapons, Swarms blades are sharp appendages on his body that can be used to slice through Hotaru’s reinforced metal exterior so perhaps he can use them to try and break the weapon if possible. As for aggression, every method of fighting Swarm has involves being in close outside of potentially making shockwaves by striking the ground so he’ll be using flight and such to try and approach in unique ways

Breaking Bleak Havoc seems like a near unachievable task with Streak’s physical advantages plus the scythe being able to clash with swords. And since he prefers to stick close, he’s at and added risk of being hit by Death Call which could tear him apart quickly without any supernatural willpower or healing. The flight will make it more troublesome since the most SDS has to compare with that is Nite who could take temporary flight with his sword, but Streak should be able to think fast enough to catch him. He nearly got High-Flyer, hitting him with Death Call at the last second and almost impaling him.

swarm does have feats against Hotaru of avoiding attacks which could shred him up even when in close, but her methods of fighting are quite different from Streak's. Is there any way of physically defending or blocking death call? Although Swarm is definitely able to avoid very close range attacks (even barrage attacks) with relative ease, he's also not one to just dodge every attack; eventually he'll wanna just start blocking unless he knows he might get himself maimed or killed

Unless you can interact with souls directly, no. Even Cinner and other characters with non-phys can’t touch it so you just have to dodge. So if Swarm doesn’t get the memo and tries blocking, he’ll take some heavy damage

I feel like Swarm would just opt to block eventually, but not before trying to barrage with a series of techniques first. I think Vacterian Tornado Kick would be pretty useful
  • Vacterian Tornado Kick: Swarm intensely kicks his opponents. The attack is strong enough to generate a wind that cuts into everything around it, as well as completely bisecting enemies if it directly contacts them.

So that could kill Streak if he lands it directly. Of course the scythe and his own combat skill will always be in the way. And depending on the timing, I think Swarm’s anger could throw him off. Streak’s cool demeanor and smugness are perfect for ticking something like that off and making him predictable enough for him to guard. He also has his forcefield if he realizes he won’t be able to take it.

I think Streak could potentially catch Swarm off guard with
  • Prolonged Suffer: Streak’s soul can curve due to his own movement, sometimes going in a circle before returning to Bleak Havoc

It doesn't need to land directly to do damage at least since it releases slashing winds for a short distance around where he's aiming even if he misses, so maybe that can work. Swarm doesn't get angry nearly as fast as some of the others but Streak does sound similar to Yojimbo who did make Swarm angry. Making Swarm more predictable still doesn't make it easy considering his four arms and flight abilities which probably give him a direct advantage without considering AP differences. Swarm has faced curving blasts from Hotaru but this might be another one he tries just blocking since he does that a lot against her

As long as Streak isn’t killed he should be able to keep going afterwards so yeah. Streak could also cut off his arms when given the chance to be close to him whether by Swarm engaging or while Swarm’s still inexperienced with Death Call’s effects. And Streak can still cover Several Meters so Swarm will have to camp far away with his flight while his abilities are only stated higher than standard melee range in this key.

I don’t think Swarm has much opportunity to win, it feels like he’d have to get pretty lucky with Vacterian kick to pull it off. Similar skill helps swarm but Streak has the AP advantage and the added fact of swarm not knowing the deal with soul-based attacks. His range is also too lackluster for any great strategy

Swarm remains winless FRA

Yeah I only just realized yesterday that his range was more limited in this key compared to the other. That would’ve given him a better shot. I’ll vote Streak
