Turns out that Brightburn was created by a mysterious extraterrestrial species as a living weapon with the sole purpose of destroying outer worlds so they could be easily conquered. His creator returns for him and congratulates him on having done his mission as intended. However, Brightburn doesn't want to leave what he considers his "special place" and this leaves him with no other choice but to fight his own creator.
Both at 9-B and Speed Equalized. They fight inside the Engineer Mothership.
