Bloodborne - Calc problem

The speed used in the calculation is too high and has no justification for it. We currently accept that meteors move at Mach 50 (17km/s). The speed used in the calculation is literally close to the value of the fastest meteor ever recorded

Actually, I am not even sure if mach 50 is a usable value for the feat, since it doesn't appear to come from space
If the meteor in question was shown to be Ablated, but didn't come from space, we will use Ablation speeds, which are the minimum speed an object needs to move in order for it to be ablated by its own friction with the atmosphere, the values range from 2000-4000 m/s.

It does come from space yes, the flower creates a portal into deep space and a meteor comes through it

Also if that speed is a problem the theres a bigger issue here as that speed is currently used for a lot of other meteor calcs a d is what I was told to use by other calc mem ers

If thats true, fine,

It would be better to show some scan

And they are wrong too lol

Which is the issue yeah, if anything this should be a thread for overall meteor feats because this would affect more than just bloodborne

It's something that is already accepted and is on the Calculation Page. There's no such thing as "Revise all verses, not just one". They are all already wrong

The standards already exist, if some people didn't follow it, it doesn't mean that a calculation can have an error ignored just because its "common"

It does? Where?

Unrelated but why is the calculation even accepted and in use with no comments of approval on the blog...?

We don't use 17 km/s, we use 11 km/s, our Calculations page states as such. Whoever the hell told you to use 17 km/s, told you wrong.

So really this is only an issue for calcs that use 17 km/s for meteor feats that have no solid evidence for emerging from outer space.

Also, no LS allowed unless the meteor is stopped in a manner of pushing/blocking, as attacking does not equal LS.

That's the meteoric re-entry speed on Earth's atmosphere under standard conditions. It'd be higher on a celestial body with no atmosphere.
Thats sort of the thing tho, the meteor in question is one that is already flying through space, it just opens a portal in front of the meteor and it flies through, its not reentering the atmosphere like a normal meteor

Coming into contact with Earth's atmosphere would necessitate that slowdown thanks to friction.

It immediately slows down to that speed the second it comes in contact with the atmosphere?
That is indeed the default assumption. Unless you want meteorites to spike to 72 km/s for being accessed from near the sun which is like, a super high-end?

lol fair enough
Wait, do you have a video showing the feat?
I can try to find a clip of it sure, but basically it can be blocked with both the Wooden Shield and the Loch Shield in the same manner as verses like Dark Souls, shields just arent as commonplace in bloodborne because its a different combat style
