Bioshock Verse is outdated to hell and back. So, this is going to Part 1 of how ever many we need to get the verse back on track.
TL;DR - We have new calcs that upgrade the verse as well as new abilities.
I am going to start with the enemies as they will serve as the basis of the scaling chain. The first up is splicers. I have made this Sandbox.
And have included everything I can to the best of my ability. Feel free to critique or ask any question.
I have removed the Brute Splicer and the Frosty Splicer as they don't appear in Bioshock 1 and their are certain statements by the devs that massively upgrade the Splicers in Bioshock 2.

Looks good to me.

Change immortality type 1 to a likely rating, based on the explanation. Additionally, the explanation should be moved to another section (same with the "NOTE" part for the electricity manipulation and technology manipulation)

Other than that, everything looks good. 👍

Changes added. Since Bioshock is a relatively obscure verse is One Admin enough?

Agreed with this.

I haven't had the time to review the blog, but now that I do, I did. And I don't personally like how the profile is formatted. Using Colons instead of Parentheses just makes the descriptions look less visually pleasing, and some of the grammar is incorrect (Athletic is incorrectly spelled in Athletic Human and Athletic Human / Unknown / Lifting Strength don't have the symbols around them like the other values do, which probably shouldn't be there to begin with). I don't believe using Colons over Parentheses is against the rules, though, so I can't do much about it except stating my dislike of it; the other stuff needs to be fixed, however.

Outside of the formatting issues, most of the abilities and resistances look fine. I'm skeptical on Mid-Low Regeneration and Immortality (Type 3) since I believe the text implies the initial introduction of ADAM restores damaged flesh, not that ADAM will continue to regenerate someone if they're damaged. This makes sense with what is shown in the games, with Splicers using Medical Stations when damaged instead of passively healing themselves despite being infused with so much ADAM to begin with. If this is changed to reflect that ADAM does have healing properties, but doesn't have regenerative properties, I wouldn't have a problem with any of the abilities.

It's most likely just a gameplay concession. Many Verses have people with Low-Mid Regen, yet they don't heal mid-fight because it would be ******* annoying. As for seeking out Medical Stations, it is only Mid-Low Regen. Splicers usually retreat at 25% health or less (this is me going off my memory, but I know it is way less than 50% health), and healing a seven inch would ain't the same as healing from most of your body being full of holes for a .38 Pistol or skin being turned into ash from Napalm

I can't comment on other series that have differentiating contexts. Unless you can prove with high probability that this is the reason why they're not present within those games, and explain how it is important to consider them within the context of Bioshock, I don't see why bringing them up, outside of presenting another possible interpretation, is helping further your interpretation.

Mid-Low Regeneration still allows you to regenerate from some pretty severe injuries. In the first example given on the profile, it allowed someone to restore a 7 inch long gash very quickly. In gameplay, If you shoot someone in the hand or toes multiple times, areas that would have less damaged surface area compared to that feat, they would still seek out a Medical Station vs if you shot them in the skull; both result in the same action of trying to find a Medical Station. I wouldn't interpret the gameplay in that manner for this very reason. It is dependent on the percentage of health left, not logically possible damaged areas.

I would still disagree with the interpretation even if you disregard the gameplay. I don't see anything in the text that especially implies ADAM will continue to heal your injuries just because it initially can. Everything that I see only textually implies what I interpreted, which is ADAM healing injuries when introduced to them - nothing more, nothing less.

Found it a statement that proves regen:
"After all, if you cut one of those kids, they instantly stopped bleeding. Cut off one of their little fingers, and the finger grew back, like she was some kind of lizard. The ADAM repaired them. That wasn’t human—they were superhuman, almost. They didn’t seem to get any older, either. They were in some weird state of growth stasis." (PG 268 - Bioshock Rapture The Novel)

I see. I have a response to that statement which contextualizes it differently, distinguishing and explaining why Little Sisters would have Regeneration but Splicers would not. I'll post my response whenever I have the time, which should be either later today or tomorrow. After I drop that, and if you wish to respond to it, go ahead. I believe we should contact the mods again to see what they have to say on the matter.

Sure, no problem take your time.

In the quoted message above, it's brought up that Little Sisters continually regenerate because of the ADAM presented within their bodies, which is being extrapolated to extend to all ADAM-enriched individuals like Splicers. I have issues with this extrapolation, as I believe there exists ample evidence that Little Sisters specifically have this because of the Sea Slug within them constantly producing ADAM, which Splicers do not have.

Little Sisters are implanted with special Sea Slugs that naturally produce a substance called ADAM. By introducing this Sea Slug to them, the genetics of the Little Sisters are completely changed; endowing them with special properties. When discussing these properties, the most commonly referenced one is their regenerative ability; the fact they can continue to heal after receiving severe bodily harm, while this never referenced as a innate ability to Splicers; an important thing to consider when interpreting these statements. More importantly than this, however; In the Audio Diary called - "Playing Doctor" - it's stated the mechanics behind their regeneration is the fact they naturally produce ADAM from the Sea Slugs within themselves. This runs contrary to the idea that ADAM itself, when introduced to someone, will endow them with these effects intrinsically rather than the just the application of ADAM healing injuries.

To further this belief: Little Sisters are dependent on these Sea Slugs for their continued existence. If the Slug is removed without a special Plasmid, they will die. This wouldn't make sense as Little Sisters would still be enriched with ADAM even after the removal of the Sea Slug, they are still genetically spliced. If it was ADAM alone providing them this innate regeneration, they would regenerate.

----------

To wrap up my post: I believe I have laid out a good, sound argument as to why ADAM itself being introduced to a system doesn't actually provide that system any inherent, regenerative characteristics. It's the initial and continued application of ADAM that allows injuries to heal. Little Sisters are a special case since the Sea Slugs within them naturally produce ADAM while Splicers don't have this benefit.

After looking over this post and re-reading the book, I agree that it should be downgraded to healing. I will make the changes.

I also found Limited Self Sustenance Type 3 Args for Splicer:
"Steinman realized he should have cleaned up a bit before answering
the door. Frank Fontaine and his bodyguards were standing outside the
Medical Pavilion, staring aghast at his blood-splattered surgical coat and
the bloody scalpel in his hand. The booster plasmid he’d been using was
starting to make him a bit abrupt, careless perhaps. He had gone three
nights without sleep " (Bioshock Rapture The Novel - Pg 239)

I also found Limited Self Sustenance Type 3 Args for Splicer:
I don't see how being awake for three days is humanly impossible. We have recorded events of people staying awake for that long or longer without the use of any medications, so it's physically possible. Unless you're saying that Steinman doesn't require sleep since he has a booster Plasmid supporting him? If so, it would only extend to Steinman and not anyone else since we don't know any other Splicer that specifically has a booster Plasmid like this one. It would be too assumptive to extrapolate this to anyone who has taken Plasmids before.

Going off the description I feel like the little sisters having the natural regen due to their experiments makes more sense than the splicers (plus iirc most of the splicers have their body messed up and they don’t exactly heal from burn marks or anything). The rest looks fine I suppose.

You are fine. Three mods agree with the thread while nobody else disagrees with it. If the time requirement has passed, you can apply the thread without issue.
Though sometimes important to wait staff instructions

But yes, this can be implemented.
