Hello staff members of VSBW. Throughout the last months of viewing big verses CRTs and working with a big verse (DC Comics), I've come to realise its hard for big verse to recieve staff votes. More specifically, our current standard forces any big verse CRTs (including minor CRTs) to get at least 3 staff votes, sometimes even needing admins. I personaly think this is a big waste of time, for both members and staff members, to need that amount of attention for stuff as simple as adding non controversal abilities, or fix simple chainscaling (Ex: Upscaling Momoshiki to Kurama Mode Naruto due to blatantly going in a high relative H2H fight). Example of minor CRTs include stuff like this thread, this one, this one or this one

Proposal:
Its simple: apply the rules of minor additions and non controversal additions/downgrades to big verses + lower the required amount of staff votes for these kinds of threads to 2 staff votes instead of 3.

This will make CRTs conclude faster, give less CRTs to review to staff, and (hopefully) not make members wait 1 month or 3 weeks to add stuff like "Healing, Dimensional Travel and Fire Manipulation" to some characters. I believe we have nothing to lose with this update, but its up staff to decide

Agree: @FinePoint @Just a Random Butler @Antvasima @DarkDragonMedeus @Mr. Bambu @KingTempest @SomebodyData @Elizhaa
Disagree:

I wouldn't mind having the 'minor/self-evident' clause take priority even for big verses, but reducing the 3 votes requirement entirely would just put them on the same playing field as every other verse, which might be dangerous.

Or, are you suggesting that specifically 'minor' revisions for these verses only need two votes?

Im suggesting that specifically minor/extremely simplistic revisions should be lowered, not that every one of their CRTs get reduced cuz ik how much problems it would generate

Neutral for now, but I feel as if Antvasima and Bambu's inputs might be important here.

The usual concerns apply-- the userbase is miraculously poor at determining what should and should not be a minor revision, and this might lead to pretty major things slipping through. However, this can be managed by the staff simply not accepting it as a minor revision, so aside from that, I think the risks are relatively minor. I give my approval.

I suppose this can be applied since we have 5 approvals rn, including 2 bureaucrats and some admins. As for a rule template, I propose this:

  • For minor revisions and self-evident revisions of small or/and non controversal verses, it is sufficient to seek the approval of one staff member with evaluation rights. For controversal verses, the approval of two staff members with evaluation rights is enough

I'm fine with this because i'm not waiting 3 days to add "acrobatics" to a One Piece page
Me too Tempey.
Wait, how many votes I need for 2 abilities.

This should fit the rule

Ahh, sorry to intrude in a staff thread but, isn't what you are suggesting already being discussed in this thread and @Antvasima already suggested a new sub forum for small and self evident revisions in Point 6 of this post?

Also I feel we should have a more comprehensive standards for what counts as minor/self-evident revision according to your new suggestions.

My thread is specifically focused on the amount of votes for big verses

The discussion rules page kinda covers this decently

It does seem fine; It could speed up approvals for uncontroversial threads for major or larger verses especially which can lower the chance of three active content revision threads limit for the verses, from discussion rules.
  • Up to three active content revision threads can be open for any verse. If three active content revision threads are in progress, the community must conclude one before creating a new one.
    • Marvel Comics and DC Comics are exempt from this rule to accommodate their continuous flow of large amounts of story material. Thus, they may have a maximum of six active threads open simultaneously. This exception also applies to extremely popular verses like Dragon Ball, to be granted on a case-by-case basis.
    • For verses with different continuties/canons, like a Web novel and a Light novel where the two aren't cross-scalable, three CRTs may be open for each one of those.
    • If a recent content revision thread is unambiguously ill-considered and of poor quality, please ask a thread moderator or administrator to close it to provide room for more alternatives.
    • Content Revision threads become inactive after remaining idle for at least one month.

Could you or any other staff update the rules, as I think we reached enough votes
