Banning A New Certain Matchup

I wish I could have had a larger say in the issue. Still in travel by bus, só cant really use internet

I should be free by this afternoon. Would you be willing to still listened by then?

If Tivannek was the only problem with this matchup and he is removed from the wiki, the matchup shouldn't be banned. Though it is a shame, Tiv was always nice to me.

Oh jeez, I went to sleep and a lot happened. Overall if you guys think the main problem has been resolved and that these match-ups don't need to be banned then I don't mind.

I'm finally back from 15 hour trip. Hi everyone.

Well, my intention was never to get Tivanenk banned forever. While I admit that his behavior was indeed often biased and confrontational, I always found him useful with calcs. Things for Mythology, SS or SMT, or other verses. In fact, most of the things he did were under my request. And he is incredibly knowledgeble on Saint Seiya and one of the few supporters on VBW (He is one of the two people in the world translating it to english).

While I agree with the punishment, I personally believe 1 year to be a bit much. He isn't a rampant troll nor a sockpuppet or trouble-maker. I could talk with him about this in private and get him to be cooperative.

I certainly agree with Matt. 1-year? That's too much for someone who has helped out a lot with the wiki. I wish I was here earlier to give more input on that, but I was busy.

What do the rest of you think?

Also, having read thread myself, I really don't believe Tivanenk derailed the threat as much as people are claiming he did.

A lot of what he did was ask for links, scans and scenes from games rather than just going from the profile description, which was accused of being derailment of the threat.

Look at this excerpt from it:

Tivanenk: The problem here is that Reppuzan's blog provides no indication of causality manipulation and this is the first I hear of it. I need proof to substantiate it.

Dragonmasterxyz: You just lied. You agreed that is was Causality Manipulation in the Alphamon vs Chronos thread we made.... You seem to only agree when it benefits you anyway STOP DERAILING THIS THREAD.

Tivanenk: I don't need you to rewrite the description. I need you to drop links.

Dragonmasterxyz: And we need YOU to create another thread. Stop derailing this one.

I'm not saying anyone is in the right or wrong, and I specially don't agree with wjat Tivanenk did at the end of the thread into fusing both God Cloth and Overture Seiya to give God Cloth Seiya the power of Causality Manipulation, but for a large amount of the thread, he was just asking for direct quotes that would prove Dragon and Reppuzan's claims, rather than using second-hand information (Their words), and Dragon never did it, instead often screamin that he was biased and that he was derailing.

By the way, I absolutely agree that Tivanenk is biased. Talked to him on PM and he admits he was too, but I fear this isn't completely black and white. Blog Posts explaining in further detail are all well and good, but direct scans are even better.

Edit: I also don't think Tivanenk is suitable for being a Staff Member, or anything of the like. He has far too many faults to earn that, but I fear that some people used his previous falts as a leaping stone to further accuse him. Was his behavior in the thread bad? Yes. But was he entirely without a point? No, and the fact that direct scans were never given is also bad.

However I did in fact post direct quotes from what I could find of the databook and other official sources.

Me: The Alpha inForce (ÒéóÒâ½ÒâòÒéíÒéñÒâ│ÒâòÒé®Òâ╝Òé╣ Arufa inFōsu?), short for "Alpha Gain Force", is an ultimate force that is possessed by Alphamo. It allows Alphamon to instantaneously replay an elapsed battle so that it can unleash countless attacks in the same instant, making it theoretically impossible to see any of them other than the final blow that brought down its opponent

Because it possesses the "Alpha inForce" ability, an ultimate force which, in battle, instantaneously replays the elapsed battle, although Alphamon's attacks are over in just an instant, you can't grasp how many attacks it actually unleashed, and in theory, you can only see the final blow that brought down its opponent.

In the battle, because of the ability of the ultimate force "Alpha in force" to instantly regain the fight that passed away, the attack of Alphamon ends in a moment, but in reality it is not known how many attacks have been delivered.

What we have written:

Alphamon has access to this legendary Overdrive ability, allowing him to instantly replay the elapsed battle by manipulating causality. Thus he is able to return the state of the battle back to the beginning should he somehow be defeated and allowing him to learn from his previous battles. He is also able to use this ability offensively, instantly replaying his first attack an infinite number of times and target an infinite number of points in space in an instant, making it appear as if he felled

The fact of the matter was that the thread was about Omegamon X and Seiya. Not Alphamon. We were crowding that thread with a discussion that did not matter in the long run and as such we wanted him to create a separate thread for Alphamon. Plus if he looked at the blog for resistances like I told him to he would've seen that Reppuzan posted them with links. I didn't have access to the main databook at the time which I told him. I barely found what I did since the databook isn't easily available for me.

Mh, I see. You are right in that case, and it does seem like it is either Causality Manipulation or Time Manipulation. Although both often overlap.

In all honesty we just didn't want to crowd the Omnimon vs Seiya thread with Alphamon information. We simply wanted a separate thread for Alphamon in which then we would've happily went on and discussed this for awhile. Seeing as Alphamon's Gain Force has never been shown, only descripted. Completely unlike Omnimon's All Delete in which was shown on screen. That's all. Finding direct visual scans is near impossible for Alpha Inforce.

Yes, that seems to be the case.

Tivanenk has been like this for more than a year now (such as the JoJo upgrade threads from December 2015) and hasn't shown any signs of development or actual concern about his actions. If he hasn't changed in a years time, I doubt this month ban will change him either.

With that said, I'm fine with either permanent or a year. One month just isn't enough.

@AMM: As i mentioned in my last comment, i have put him to at least a years time. 1 month is not gonna be enough. Antvasima tried this with Davy0 when he got banned for only one month. Kavpeny didn't like that since he too also disliked him (unlike Ant at the time) and set it up to 6 months.

I am not lenient towards people similar to those like Davy over a year or two ago. And as you pointed out among the other points that i and stuff have said, Tivanenk has been like this for over a year now and never really did show any signs of ever improving. As Hop said earlier, we can't be like this anymore or else people will think it's okay to just be like this and act conceding and rudely just as what was done with Davy0 and whoever.

But he's gone and done and other with.

So, should we keep or remove the rule now?
